I am sure my son's neuro would love to hear that you think his Sensory Intergration Disorder is BS, even though it's been diagnosed by several different doctors. You are talking out your ass on this issue, and I hope your kid does not end up having some sort of "BS" disorder that they will have to just suffer with because you are so closed minded and ignorant on the subject.

Hi!
I am a speech therapist and after I read your post I had to reply. I don't know if you've thought about speech therapy or not. We do more than speech and language stuff- we can also help your little one with his sensory integration issues. If the problem isn't mechanical, motoric, or physiological then he may benefit from tactile therapy where he becomes less defensive orally.

Tracey, question... now my son Tyler eats based on how something looks and I've tried to introduce him to this video by Sesame Street that talks about "try it because you might like it" on numerous stuff like food and sports, etc.. He won't even eat cake, cup cakes or cookies because how they look. I thought to myself..."Now what kid doesn't like cupcakes...MINE!!" LOL... Is there a way to overcome his visual perception of food so that he can try things more? I've tried to nearly force him to try, but I've since backed off on forcing him to try things as it's a negative exchange I don't wish to have with my child. Just trying to figure out creative ways to get him to overcome his visual perception of food. Just a thought...anyone can chime in if you have any ideas. Thanks ladies.

He is 3 right? When my daughter was that age she decided that she would not have anything to do with the color green, she would not eat anything green, use a green crayon to color, wear green in any of her clothes, it took her about a year to get over it, but she did. I think at this age they are trying to exert any kind of control that they can, and this could just be his way of doing it. I say, don't fight with him, keep doing what you are doing (offering, asking, but not fighting) and eventually he will come around.

I swear 3 was BY FAR the hardest age! I would take 20 newborns over one 3 year old LOL

LOL when the triplets where little I thought I was the BEST mother in the world b/c MY kids didn't go though the "terrible two's", so it must have been something I was doing right, little did I know the ride I was in for when they turned 3! LOL They knocked me off my high horse REAL fast!

One day I put them down for a "nap", then heard them laughing hysterically, I ignored it for a bit and then went to check it out and this is what I found -

They had stripped naked, took every piece of clothing out of their drawers and moved a mattress, all in about 15 mins. They are REALLY lucky they are cute.
