1st OB Appt Today!!
Sooo....I had a "lil" freak out last week when I found out I was pregnant so soon after surgery. I thought I wouldn't believe it until I saw the urine and blood test results from the PCP. So, I got those -- they were positive--- and I STILL didn't believe it. I think I just didn't want to get my hopes up and then be crushed.
Anywho ....I went to the OB today and it is official. By my LMP, I should've been about 11 weeks along, but they said I must have ovulated late because I am 6w1d today. I had my first u/s and we could see the little heart beating away ....awwww. The dr. said everything looks great and my next appt is Jan 10.
I am cautiously excited ... my boyfriend told his whole family after the appointment and they were thrilled. I am just so nervous to tell my mom because it's SO early. Though the dr said risk of m/c drops after they find the heartbeat.....still I'm nervous.
They put my due date at 7/31/11 --I hope everything goes well!! Thanks for reading!!

Congrats Melinda! I'm about a week behind you. We don't plan on telling the family until we get into our 2nd trimester because of the risks of mc. I'm 40 and 15 mos post op. But we've told our close friends. Gee... we do seem to have a lot of close friends! LOL. Anywho... congrats!

My little twisted pleasure, is watching your SO see the heartbeat/hearing the heartbeat for the first time...their look on their face is priceless...just wait until you see more than just a lil bean...=) EVEN after they tell you what it is if thats what you want...=)
My babys dad oldest daughter wasnt told until she and her grandma came into the peri appt with me. she just thought they were checking my stomache from "surgery" i told the US to wait a minute before putting the wand on my belly, (she knew what was going on) and i looked at her and the tech asked if i was ready i was like yep! She goes, the BABY is doing great! His daughters face was priceless!! LOVED IT!! ...=)WIth my oldest with each of the youngest he has gotten to see the US and each time his face was a proud big brother and yes he tears up everytime he sees the US in person, or the pictures...
