I had a sonagram today to see if indeed I have gallstones... and yep there they were all shiney and painfull... I had ANOTHER attack....  So I called my ob hoping they would call me in some type of pain meds... The told me since I am so early in my pregnancy they wont perscribe me ANYTHING....  How the hell am I suposed to deal with the pain of this??  It seems to be getting worse as the days go on... I almost am afraid to leave to house because of the chances i'll have an attack.... My ob told me to call my VSG surgeon and see if THEY will call me in something... It's as if my ob doc doesnt want to take responsability if something goes wrong....  Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do???? I can't deal with this type of crippling pain 3-4 times a week then having to work on top if it.... no freakin way!!!!!

Gallstones after WLS (either RNY or VSG) is common actually.  My bari surgeon told me that on average, there is a 30% chance of getting Gall stones after WLS.  Your bari surgeon will be able to deal with it.  Typically they just go in & remove the gall bladder laproscopically.  It's a same-day procedure & takes just a few days to recover - nothing like the WLS.

Definitely call your bari surgeon today.  The pains/attacks are bad annd actually will probably get worse (sorry!)

I had mine removed during surgery, because gallbladder problems are big after WLS.  Is that an option for you?  I know you will have to wait until after the baby, but was just wondering.

I don't know if having it removed when I had surgery would have been an option.  I paid out of pocket for my wls so I didn't really ask about having anything else done while I was on the table...  I tell ya for sure... I am getting my female stuff ripped out, burned, shreded and what ever else needs to be done cause I am sooooooooo done having kids.....  I just want my body back!

If they can give me something why are both doctors refusing to do so?  Maybe they don't realize how much pain I really am in... If I have another "attack" or they don't lessen somewhat I will go to the ER.... I'll jump up and down and scream till I turn into a smurf.... LMAO....

NOT TO MENTION when under said pain and stress possibility of my BP going up?  NOW give me something for the pain!!...please"  DO NOT let them give you Loritab. I had gallbladder attacks for the first trimester of my first pregnancy (pre-op), but thought it was morning sickness.  After my hormones leveled out, I had no attacks for the 2nd and 3rd trimesters.  The attacks came back after my hormones dipped again after childbirth and after a trip to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack, my gallbladder was removed.  But honestly, the best way to avoid attacks is to stay away from foods high in fat...fried foods, greasy foods, salad dressings, etc.  Also, eat several smaller meals throughout the day...that should help you avoid attacks.  Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
