Some common terms:

TTC - trying to conceive
BFP - big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)
BFN - big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)
CD - the day of your menstrual cycle
O - ovulation
DPO - days past ovulation
LP - luteal phase (time from ovulation to period)
AF - aunt flow ( your period)
PG - pregnant/pregnancy
MC - misscarriage
RE - reproductive endocrinologist
OPK - ovulation prediction kit
CL - coverline ( for those taking their temps to confirm ovulation)
Met - metformin or glucophage ( a diabetes medication sometimes taken to help hormone levels and ovulation)
BD - baby dancing ( having timed intercourse)
DTD - doing the deed
IUI - inter uterine insemination
IVF - in vitro fertilization
PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome
POAS - pee on a stick (taking a pregnancy test)
2WW - two week wait...time from ovulation until you can test for pg

FF is unsure if I'm in the 2WW or not. My temps have been crazy and I haven't had a positive OPK yet and am on CD19. Either way I already made a Dr appointment for Dec 29th. She said if I'm not preggers by Jan to come in for testing and since I know I'm off that day I decided to go for it! I figure I'll either be a few weeks along or ready for testing to find out why I'm not! Good luck and baby dust to everyone!

I've been trying to keep quiet....but I got my bfp (actually 4 of them) last week!!!!

I'm due on 7/25/11...or so the calculators say! I see my Ob in the 16th of dec!

wow, congrats courtney! i'm so happy for you. What an awesome early christmas present!! i can't until I have similar news to post. I start my first round of clomid tomorrow =)

Can I join you all?  I've been TTC for a while now.  I naturally concieved twins in Feb 06. Due to an unknown blood clotting disorder, I  miscarried the first baby at 6 weeks, and at 14 weeks the 2nd baby had no heartbeat. My body didn't take care of it naturally, and I had to have a D&E where I almost bled to death.  From all that I developed severe cervical stenosis. 

I have undergone 2 failed IVF cycles.  I tested positive for the natural killer cells and undergo intralipid infusions for to counteract it.

As soon as AF gets here I will be starting up my 3rd cycle.. and praying I get that BFP. 

There are lots of IF and  IVF message boards, but I have yet to find a lot of people who have gone through RNY and IF.

Just looking for support or anyone who is in the same or similar boat!!!!!

Renee ~ Of course you can join in! I will add you to the list for next week. OH doesn't have a board for those of us TTC, so this is the best I can do is the Friday post. Back in the day the girls used to chime in here a lot. Not so much any more....but I am here! It took me 5 years and wls to conceive my first. I have pcos and hubby has super low sperm counts. I was doing IUI and clomid for several cycles and was actually on a cycle break on jury duty when I got pg. The only thing I was on was metformin for the pcos and insulin resistance, to regulate my cycles. Never in a million years thought with our double infertility whammy that we would get pg with #2. I had decided to be blessed with one...and not to do fertility treatments again...very tough as you know. Then, out of the blue with bd 5 days before o because I was sick with a cold....came baby #2.

I remember very clearly how hard it was for me to go through those 5 years. I will never take my babies for granted. I do this post because I really want there to be somewhere for us girls to meet. And I have a little knowledge to share, and if it helps someone then I am glad to give back. I couldn't have done it some days without this board.

Anyway...sorry for the long story. Please keep us posted for sure! I really hope this is it for you. Do you have any frozen embryos?? Or will this be a collection of eggs too? I know an IVF can be really hard, and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! Shari
