Test resaults! Venting

So I called up my OB-GYN and got my results of my Glucose test..... NORMAL! I could so choke the doctor! I told him I did not want to have it, and he pushed me and pushed me and pretty much forced me to have a second test done after the first one came back normal! He was so persistent to push me because the baby is measuring big. I told him that my last one one was big too, and I did not have GD with him! Uhhh

So needless to say, I had to take a second dose of unnecessary 50gram sugary drink, and make myself ill, to prove to him that I did not have GD! I even told him that I felt my iron was low, and what do you know, my iron was low! HA
I should go to medical school so I can irritate pregnant women and get paid to do it!

Sorry, venting.

I know right?
My test came in borderline low, and he thinks its my potassium level from the symptoms im having...
Having all symptoms of blood sugar bottoming out but yet its my potassium...I humor em...
Then when the results do come back saying what I think they would, i look at him everytime and say "I TOLD YOU SO!!!"....

That is frustrating! But at least you know that you and baby are okay!! :)

I am so going to do that too! I was shocked that they consider me high risk due to the RNY that they want to monitor me close, yet they have not put me on the every other week schedule yet. I thought they start seeing you every other week at 30 weeks? well they want me back at 32 weeks. So apparently they want me to be high risk for fun, because they told me I could switch to a midwife for delivery if I chose to.

It is good to know that the baby and I are OK.

My OB wanted to do the sugar drink but I refused, said I wouldn't keep it down due to dumping so was able to get a fasting blood test done. My first OB tried to argue with me even when she knew nothing about RNY so I quickly replaced her!

Providers who force the traditional glucose test on RNY patients are ASSES!  I have a DS so I don't dump, and that stuff still makes me feel gross.  My midwives would have allowed me to eat a meal and then test an hour later, but thankfully I tolerated the glucola all right. 

You can still switch if you are not happy with this provider.  I'm sorry he bullied you.
