12 wk appt

My 12 wk appt was yesterday.  Baby is growing well, my blood pressure was excellent, and I had only gained 3 lbs since last month.  MD wants to do glucose tolerance test next visit....he said this was earlier than normal but because of my weight he wants to  check early.  Also, he said I would be getting an ultrasound every visit to make sure baby is growing well since I am considered high risk.  My doctor is great!  Bless his heart, he would say "Because you're slightly over your ideal weight............"  He does his best to make me feel so comfortable!  Just rambling I guess, but I tend to be a lurker and read everybody else's stories.  Just thought I'd try sharing mine!  Thanks for listening!

at least your Dr is concerned with the growth. Have him do a full Metabolic blood work too so they can baseline.
Did he mention anything about seeig a Level 2 Ob? (periontologist)

Great news! It is nice to have a dr that is understanding. It makes all the difference in the world to me.

He had me consult with the perinatologist, but they didn't feel that I was that high risk.  Matter of fact, my MD said "The only reason we have to consider you high risk is because of your autoimmune diesase and the Lap Band.", but the perinatologist said "Your health is perfect.  Alot of thin people would love to have your blood pressure.  At this point, you are not high risk to me".   So, my MD said they would just do frequent  ultrasounds to make sure baby is growing well.

Great news.  I have my 12 week appt today.  Keeping my fingers crossed.
