Am I hurting my baby? Freaking out a bit here.
The reason there are no 'studies' on the effects of artificial sweetners because it's unethical to say to women "here you drink splenda for 9 months and see if your baby has birth defects. That could never happen. I have heard splenda is the best, then sweet n low, then equal. either way I drank/ate it all while preggo

Ok. So a phone call to the OB and a nutritionist appointment later, I have the definitive "medical" answer LOL.
Both said that the diet drinks are ok, but to try and use them as sparingly as I can. It's one of those things where I need to be hydrated and if that's the only way I'm getting fluid, then so be it. I'm having 2-3 decaf diet sodas a day, decaf or peppermint tea with no sweetener and homemade lemonade (with Splenda). Also, SF popsicles are awesome! I highly recommend them if you're having nausea.
