Morning Sickness w/RNY???
HI Girls,
qq here... if you had RNY and we no longer have the nasty stomach acid in our "active" digestive tracts... do you still get morning sickness and throw up? Since we have what I affectionately call a "creative digestive system" I do throw up, but only when I eat too much and Penelope Pouch says "there's no more room at the inn."
Just trying to get ready... we TTC #1 right now (well... last night, tonight, and tomorrow night.) AI for me & my DW. :-)

Since I had my RNY almost 4 years ago, it feels like it is almost impossible for me to throw up at all. I get nauseated and I dry heave, but I'm not a vomitting person. I can luckily say though that through this pregnancy I've also been nauseated at times, but no throwing up or morning sickness this time around for me. This is my first and last, so I think so far I've been blessed with a happy pregnancy :)
I have both. Been sick and mostly nights. Last pregnancy was worse in last trimester but so far this one is bad too. Lots of vomitting along with feeling sick all day. Its worth it though they say the babies look good so far. GL

In the 1st trimester starting around 6 weeks I was nauseated everyday all day long until about week 14, then it let up some and I was nauseated every day afterwards. Just maybe 1-2 times per wee****il week 17. I did vomit about 4-5 times in the 1st trimester from it, but mostly dry heaving and foamy mouth type of feeling otherwise. Now that I am in my 31st week the nausea has resurfaced unfortunatly. Not as bad as before still ,but like today...it was a horrible feeling. I take Bonine for relief and have also used the sea band wrist compressions. You can find both at CVS/Walgreens. I was told Bonine was safe by my high risk OB and the Pharmacist and that he would rather me take the chewable tablet of Bonine than anything else. The Pharmacist gave me the idea with the wrist compressions and they help A LOT!
I had such horrible morning sickness for the first 10 weeks, I had no appetite. Nothing sounded good, nothing tasted good, and I didn't eat much at all. That is how I found out I was pregnant, it was a huge surprise! My DH kept telling me to take a pregnancy test, but I didn't believe it could be possible. I just thought something was wrong with my pouch, boy was I surprised when I gave in and took a test and it showed positive. I have probably taken 100 of those things in the last 9 years and that was the first positive ever! I go in tomorrow for induction and my pregnancy experience with the exception of the fist 10 weeks of morning sickness was absolutely wonderful. I had no other complications. Good luck to you!
