Dunkin Donuts....

let me start off saying that I am not a "Breastfeeding Nazi" or anything like that. My philosophy we do what is best for OUR families....
there was a post on another site, and it got me hot. Hotter than normal AFTER I checked the facebook page out...

Dunkin Donuts Employee called the cops on 2 Breastfeeding mama's BEFORE they were asked to stop. NOW in New Jersey there is a law stating that it is VERY legal for BF mama's to whip it out whereever they are to feed their kids....WOOHOO!!!GOOD FOR THEM!!!

NOW for the events of today? I kinda want to go on a road trip to kick some serious employee and POLICE DEPARTMENT ASS!!!

Bottom line, 2 moms were feeding babies, were asked to stop and at sametime cops show up and as the one mom was ready to tell them the law of the state, HE told her to shut up and to leave. Yep got me kinda hot today....SOOO, of course I had to post something other than the new jersey law that everyone seems to be stating on there...

SO if you have facebook, here is the link to the page, and yes you will have to like the page in order to leave a comment...

Just out of curiosity, where they really babies or 2yr olds? Where the ladies covered up a little? I can see both sides to this story. But the cops were wrong.

they exclusivly breastfeed and it shouldnt matter as to how old the kids are. YES they were covered up.
Yes i can see both sides too, but what was done and how it was handled was very wrong. How would you like it if someone came upto you to say, "um yeah your going to have to leave because it is against MY beliefs of only breastfeeding is the way to be" while trying to bottle feed your baby? about as bad as asking you to leave because baby is crying non stop...you just dont do it. There is one word called tact.
Apparently people these days have none. If they do its very little if not at all.

I didn't see an actual story about it, just the comments. But I am often out and see women take advantage of this law by the gross extreme. As in,"yes I will sit here in this nice restaurant and let my preschooler eat chicken nuggets and chocolate cake, then I will pull my left breast out of the top of my tank top and let him go to town" Sorry but that just grosses me out. I don't think the law states it is appropriate to remove blouses and give a clear demonstration of this "right" to all passerby. I feel anyone who breastfeeds should keep their baby's nursing schedule in mind when making plans. And if nursing in public, be discreet as possible. It's just common courtesy.

That ****** me off!! My daughter is almost 11 months old and if I want to BF her I can!! Why is it not okay to BF now a days? Why is it only okay if they are little little babies? The breast is not just a sexual thing, why are people so freaked out by BF'ing?? I am proud to say my babygirl has only had 2 bottle of Breast milk!! This is soooo disappointing!!!

You rock mama, keep giving your girl the good stuff anytime she wants it, hopefully by exposing our daughters (and son's in my case) to what is natural and normal it will stop being such a big issue and people will stop being so negative about it.

ughh makes my state look  bad.  that is awful.  I wish i could have breastfed for a long time.  I did for 2 months.  Then my supply just went away, pretty sure it was due to stress, my DD was on an apnea monitor and had a hole in her heart which made me super anxious and stressed.  but anyway, I felt totally awkward doing it in public, but that's just me.  but good for people who do!  I can't believe how it was handled.

Do you have a link to the story anywhere? Where in NJ was it?

I think this calls for a nurse-in LOL
