I'm hungry all the time! Is anyne else??
Ok, i got pregnant prior to really reaching my goal weight- I was at 182.. i think my goal was somewhere around 170ish. So i lost weight in my pregnancy so far.. now I'm down to 172 consistantly these past 2 months. (but my belly is really growing) I know that eating more has jump-started my loss again. (RNY 4/17/09)
But now I'm eating ALL THE TIME! I eat diner.. and then an hour later.. hungry again! And I will eat protein still at my meals, so I know its not that, but this is getting kinda rediculous. its literally every hour. I know its because i dont eat that much still... not as much as "average" person still, but just wondering if this is also happening to others? It sucks to eat a snack, sit down and watch a tv show and then be hungry by the end of it again! I feel like such a pig! :)
and im really worried that this eating all the time habit now will be carried on after the pregnancy.. I dont want to gain the weight back!!!!

Hey there! Try not to stress too too badly. I had reached my goal wait by 18 months out, but managed to regain about 35lbs in 2 years- due to my own lack of self control and letting go. Anywho- I am CONSTANTLY hungry!! From the second I wake up til te second I close my eyes at night I think sometime I could eat everything in my house and it would be ok. I was eating the wrong things at first, but I've really cut myself back. I make sure at lunch I eat a chicken salad and for snacks I choose better things like cheese sticks, laughing cow cheese, and yogurts. I think after about a week of doing so the urge to eat was there, but I find I'm keeping myself busy so I can't turn my every thought to food.
I started at 185 when I found out I was pregnant. I didn't gain much through the first trimester even though I felt like there were days I had to have gained 5lbs just from eating as much as I did. At my last doctors appointment I weighed in at 193 and this morning I weighed in at exactly 200. That means I gained 7lbs in a month and 15lbs total now and I just turned 24 weeks today. I know how frustrating it can be, but I've sworn off the scale except for either on Sundays or at the dr appointments. Try not to worry too much. Leave the worrying for after the baby is born. Just make sure you're eating good meals with healthier snacks, getting your vitamins and like me (trying) to get in 3-5 days of at least 20-30 minutes of walking. Keep yourself healthy for baby and leave the worrying for after girl! It will all be ok!! :)

I felt hungry all the time during my pregnancy until the last couple weeks where I just didn't feel like I could cram anything else in my belly area. I thought it would change when I wasn't pregnant anymore, but I am still really hungry cuz I breastfeed. Now my hope is that I am not so hungry when I'm done breastfeeding cuz I'll gain weight fast if I eat like I eat now after the bfing is over.
I think it probably felt really weird to be that hungry all the time because I was so used to rarely feeling hunger after surgery.

Mommy to 2 of the most beauiful little girls in the whole universe and still in love with my hubby of 8 years. LIFE IS GOOD!
Sometimes when you are eating like that it usually means your body is "craving" something. So it will be in a constant hunger mode until that craving is met. So, sit down and really REALLY think as to what you REALL REALLY want to eat. Hey im craving toast and chips and potatoes, why? my blood sugar is way way low and my body is craving the carbs.
I know what my body is craving and unfortunately i cant have it because of being pregnant, and I will say it. I am craving a shot of Jose....does it make me an alcoholic? nope. I do with all my "boy" pregnancies, i had a capt. morgan craving with my daughter. Oh and and I crave "gummy worms/bears/cherries/mike ikes/dots/dt rootbeer A&W too" any gummy candies that are sour. Have you talked to your bariatric surgeon about your concerns and your pregnancy? Tell him/her your concerns and they will help you get on the right track...

Angie, I'm in the same boat and know exactly how you feel. It started at about 6 weeks pregnant that it felt like I was hungry every hour after just eating something. I'm craving things I know I shouldn't eat, but nonetheless I give into those cravings, but in moderations. I've gained 6lbs so far and I'm almost 6 months pregnant. I guess that's not bad, but you're not alone. I feel like I'm starving sometimes knowing that I just ate an hour ago. It seems my body is in a constant starvation mode.....so I eat. I can't eat a lot, but I eat often. Just have to make sure it's the good healthy stuff (boring), but I do put in some very bad things. Like M&M Peanut has been a daily craving/necessity for me.
