My Glucose testing....
Finally went and had it done this morning. Why so late? Dr wanted to make sure we did the right test since I cant do the actual drink. So he decided that I would do a fasting with a comprehensive study on my platelets etc...fancy word that your blood retains a memory like our muscles and can actually read what has been going on as an average for last 3months.
First initial for the "usual" testing is 80~nurse says that good!
the "3month" testing says average is 70~according to nurse that is start of normal range being very low. I told her all my signs and symptoms and she then got concerned and informedher that when i measure that close or on borderline of low or high. I will have the signs of said symptoms etc...I told her that i was having these episodes evenbefore being pregnant. She then told me that her and the dr were going to hav ea nice chat about this. Especially with my low BP, she is concerned after I toldher all the symptoms. She asked me if i have told the dr, and i said YES of course! does he listen? NO HE DONT!!! after my appt on weds, he and i are going to have a little chat.
What really REALLY chaps my hide is when people treat me like im a complete idiot and pointing out the obvious things I need to do. more complex carbs, etc yaddayadda yadda. Like I dont know this already. I am sorry if I know my body and I have started to fight with my dr's and have fought for the treatment that I feel that has been ignored to this point. and me being treated like a paranoid pregnant mom. I am sorry this isnt my first rodeo. I know my crap. I have researched this thru and thru, before, after, during surgery.
Sorry for ranting...damn hormones!!

You are welcome. And for reference purposes....the result value that you want to look for
will be somewhere around "5." Below is a convesion chart giving the test result and the average
blood glucose that correlates to that result. For example, a 5.0 is equivalent to an average blood glucose of 97. Be sure to ask your doctor what target range they feel is best suited to you.
The green highlights are what is considered to be in "Desirable" range. The thing to remember with this is that the HGB A1C is most commonly used to assess the diabetic patient and when determining desirable ranges, that was done with diabetics in mind. Different labs will have slightly different "normal" values but a general idea for a normal blood glucose is in the range
of 65-110.

I cant remember the exact name of it, just ask your dr about it, they should catch on to what I mentioned. just ask him and TELL them you absolutely cant do the glucose drink. It has over 50 grams of sugar in it....For me, thats dumping for hours on end!!
So thats why we did the fasting, or "original" glucose testing along with that other one. I will see what I can do about the name of it. =)
