Some common terms:

TTC - trying to conceive
BFP - big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)
BFN - big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)
CD - the day of your menstrual cycle
O - ovulation
DPO - days past ovulation
LP - luteal phase (time from ovulation to period)
AF - aunt flow ( your period)
PG - pregnant/pregnancy
MC - misscarriage
RE - reproductive endocrinologist
OPK - ovulation prediction kit
CL - coverline ( for those taking their temps to confirm ovulation)
Met - metformin or glucophage ( a diabetes medication sometimes taken to help hormone levels and ovulation)
BD - baby dancing ( having timed intercourse)
DTD - doing the deed
IUI - inter uterine insemination
IVF - in vitro fertilization
PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome
POAS - pee on a stick (taking a pregnancy test)
2WW - two week wait...time from ovulation until you can test for pg

well I was pregnant and lost my baby June 8, 2010 due to trisomy 18.  We have the go ahead to try again.  THis site has been so helpful in the past.  Me and my Husband are ready to try again. Sending myself and everybody here babydust.

Dee ~ I am sorry for your loss. I hope that pregnancy finds you again soon. The girls here are very supportive. Keep us posted on your journey okay. I post this so the girls can support each other because the weekly journey while ttc can be hard. Also, if you have specific questions...a lot of us have experience and might be able to help you find your bfp a little quicker. Shari

Thank you for the glossary of terms.  I've been racking my brain on some of these. LOL.  Add me to the list!  My DW and I are TTC #1 in 2 days!  We're doing AI with a wonderful local donor who has already signed his rights away so my partner can adopt our child.  We're sooooooooooooo excited!

No AF for us! :-)

Maryn~ Welcome and good luck. I actually have a friend here that with her DW has 2 beautiful baby boys from the same donor. Wish you all the luck...and maybe if you need a little moral support I can get you in touch with her. She actually had a reality show do an episode on the family. Keep us posted on your progress.
