Tomorrow is my baby shower... advice?
Good morning, ladies!
My mom and dad are hosting our co-ed baby shower at their house tomorrow. I'm so excited... we will have a great turnout with about 24 people there, and my brother and sis-in-law are even flying in from Texas!!
I would really like to give something to my parents as a "thank you" gift. This baby is their first grandchild. I totally appreciate all the hard work and planning it must have taken to prepare the shower, and they have been wonderfully supportive of me and my husband not just in pregnancy, but in other ways as well.
I don't really just want to give them a "trinket." Do any of you have suggestions? I thought about maybe framing one of our ultrasound pictures, but even though they think the pics are cool, they think they're kind of spooky, LOL.
Thank you!

Awwww I love baby showers! Have fun!
Do they celebrate Christmas? Maybe, a jar candle from Yankee Candle scented for the holidays? They will most likley only burn it around then, so it should last a long time, years. You can tie it with a pink bow or something.
P.S if you search online you can usually find printable coupons for $10.00 off a $25.00 purchase.
If not, maybe a GC to one of their favorite restaurants? That is nice you want to give them something. I've hosted 3 AWESOME baby showers and only got thank you cards

I know my parents aren't expecting anything... but I just thought it would be a nice token of appreciation.
They do celebrate Christmas, but lordy, my mom already has a lot of candles! Your holiday suggestion got me thinking, though; Maybe I can find an ornament for them or something? The only thing is, I'm not even due until AFTER Christmas, so they'd have to wait until next year to hang it on their tree!

Speaking of ornaments, at most malls they have like the personalized ornaments that are like a cat, dog, a house and etc. And then you have the family name or names put on it. Well the one here in NC has a lil couple and the woman has a baby bump, you could get that and personalize it and the new grandparents will have it forever. Or you can have them Grandma/Grandpa sweatshirts embroidered also. They would love showing off the new grandbaby's gift lol Just a thought though.
Have fun at your shower! My first one is Sat Dec 4th and I am excited, just don't know what to wear lol!!
Susie Q and Hannah Grace too!

My friends did something really special, not sure if you are comfy with people in the delivery room. But they created an invitation with one of the ultrasound pictures as their parents "private invitation" to the birth. They gave them a baggy with a disposable camera, grandparent brag book, gift card the the closest Rite Aid, or CVS where they could run right out and have the pictures processed ASAP. And a bottle of champagne to celebrate their new titles as Nanny and Tatta! It was beautiful and made them both cry!
That's a really cute idea... but yeah, my husband and I have discussed at length that it will just be the two of us during delivery.
They both already have really nice digital cameras... and I've already given my mom a brag book, LOL! Thanks for the suggestion!!

Ooooh... I really like Mell's ideas. If you don't want to have your folks in the delivery room you could just omit that part. But yeah, I think a gift bag that speaks to them being grandparents would be wonderful - especially since this is their first grandchild.
Congratulations and have a wonderful time at your shower tomorrow.
