This is the second time I have done this.  But last night was the worst.  About 2 months ago I muted my side of the baby monitor while I was asleep.  Well last night I did not mute the monitor, I turned it off, both sides (the side in her room and mine).

This morning I woke up at 7am and looked at the monitor to see if Sage was up  (we have the motion sensored angelcare monitor) and the thing was off.  I ran into her room and she was up and laughing but her side of the monitor was of too?!  WTF!?  Why am I doing this?  Has this happened to anyone esle??  I feel terrible.  I think I need to move the monitor.  But I dont remember going in her room to turn hers off... ughhhh

OK... breathe... you're not a bad mommy! Your baby was up and laughing. She's fine. I mean really... what did our parents do before baby monitors were made? Don't beat yourself up. Now that this has jarred you a little, you'll be that much more consciously aware to make sure both ends of the monitor are on moving forward. You're a good mommy~

When I saw the title of the post I thought you dropped her or left her in the car or something. Throw the stupid monitor out. You don't need it. Trust me you will hear her if she needs you bad enough.

Umm yeah, don't worry. If anyone gets a major Mom F*ckup award it would be me. 4 years ago we were at a big family Christmas Eve party, and everyone had red cups. it was mostly adults, so there was not much of a selection of drinks for my then 8yr old. So I give her some ginger ale. Fast foward a few hours later when I hand her her PM meds and tell her to take them. She complains it taste funny (the soda). I scream at her to just take them because I am tired and think she is just being whiney.
Yep, I totally made her take her pills with someones cup full of scotch. I didn't forgive myself for a looooooooong time.
On the plus side, she slept really well that night, but I suppose that's not even funny.

Damn my alcoholic cousin for sitting next to her, I think she had a dozen half full cups of various booze laying all over the house.

Actually, i giggled at the "slept really well that night" comment. lol  i guess that makes me a bad mom too!

I actually was at a friends house not too long ago and was busy chatting in the kitchen when Alex walked in with an empty beer bottle.  Turns out.. that bottle was 1/4 full when he got to it :(  Still dont know if he drank it or dumped it.  I'm thinking he dumped it because there wasnt any splash or scent of beer on him.

I am just jealous, you didn't have to wake up until 7am.  My lil one wakes up crying, monitor or not, I wouldn't miss the three times a night (If I am lucky it's only three time), I want a bottle, binky something cry.

LOL....I think you still have some more to do before you get the bad mommy award.

As horrible as some may say it is, they now say not to go rushing to every cry so that babies can learn to self soothe. I am pretty sure if she was really upset, you would have heard her cry. The fact that she was happy when you went to her means she was just fine on her own =) Now, if you had the monitors off and had dangerous objects in her crib or within reach then I would worry more LOL Good Mommy, breathe!
