Pregnant on the pill?

Hi there,

This is my first time posting here.  I'm not pregnant and not trying at this point, I had surgery 3 months ago and we're hoping to try for #2 next year.

Sorry if this is TMI but here's my story...I went back on the pill 6 weeks ago, we had unprotected sex last night.  Yesterday I thought I felt a little crampy, thought maybe AF was coming early.  But today, I am clearly showing ovulation signs.  So I'm wondering if maybe a hormone surge from weight loss is causing my pill to take effect longer than usual?  If I am ovulating, I would be shocked if I didn't get pregnant.  I might buy an ovulation test on the way home out of sheer curiousity because I am not the most patient person.  But just wondering if anyone else has had a hyper reproductive system post-op?

I know my dr told me the pill was not protection enough. I had an iud placed. He said if I used the pill we would also have to use condoms.

Just say you were lapband, so probably does not apply to you. lol Sorry

Rapid weight loss can jump-start fertility and make your cycles strange. There are a few women here who got pregnant shorty out after WLS while using BC.

Absolutely. i am living proof. I was religious with my pill and am now almost 10 weeks pregnant and 13 1/2 weeks post op. Shockeroo to say the least. be very careful!!!

I got pregnant on the pill too! My OB said that BC pills contain such a low dose of hormones these days that it is VERY common for women to get pregnant on them.

Thanks for your responses ladies! I've had some spotting since yesterday, it seems a little too heavy for implantation bleeding, too light for my AF. I'm totally confused! I'll take a test in a few days.
