TMI: Question about BM..
Ok does anyone keep track of when you have a BM? I am sitting here thinking I cannot remember when I had a BM. When is the longest you have gone without a BM? I think I have not gone in a week now. I normally go at least twice a week. And funny thing is I do not feel like I have to go or feel constipated at all either. When should I be concerned and let my dr know if I have not gone and how long should I wait?
I am a regular! I get at least one a day, but that has a lot to go with the diary I consume. It seems to move things along just nicely for me. I was constipated for about 5 days and as soon as they gave me my glucose drink at my 20 week appointment, it got me moving again, and I have not had a problem sense.
I would probably call the dr. I use to use the bathroom 2-3 times a day. I have not used the bathroom in 14 days! UGH!
I have to go the emergency room today according to my obgyn and see what is going on. They have tried magnisum, miralax, enema and magnisum citrate last night. NO RELIEF!
I am glad you are not in pain, but would want to try to get control of it now. Good luck!

I don't know the answer to your question but I wanted to share that if it becomes an issue that I have noticed that on some of the samples of prenatals that my dr has given me there are stool softeners listed in the ingredients.

During the first few months post RNY op, it's "normal" to make a BM every few days because we're not getting much fiber in our diet. I'm 14.5 mos post op and I still wasn't having a BM more than once every 3 days. Which is fine because I did not feel constipated or anything. However, I was a having a (yes more TMI coming...) major flatulence issue (a lot and they smelled really bad.) I spoke to a bariatric nurse about it and she asked how much fiber I get. It wasn't much at the time. So I changed up my morning routine to include a small serving of high protein oatmeal and I increased my water intake a bit. That did the trick. I'm now a once a day pooper again and the flatulence issue has subsided. *phew* My fiance is very happy about that part!
i will have to agree with the poster above. It has been that long, time to make yourself dump. REALLY bad advice but when push comes to shove. ESPECIALLY when your pregnant, being that backed up cancause more issues. You can get sick. Whatever makes you dump, go for it. Indulge and lock the bathroom door. We have all had to make ourselves dump at least once.
THEN after you do that then I would go to the store get some MOM or Dulcolax and start putting that into your arsenal.
I dont know if you have gone yet or not but if you havent, yeah its time to pull out the big guns.

I drink a cup of half caff coffee in the morning daily and it keeps me regular. Lately there has been a couple days I notice not going so I take an all natural vegetable stool softener and in about 6 hrs I am back to mornal. I would be careful forcing a dumpage as if you are blocked up then it could be very painful! I know when I am blocked and eat a nono treat, the gas bubbles alone kill me! Good luck but I would go see the Doc to get things going.
