Centrum?

I was thinking of switching my vitamins from Optisource to Centrum vitamins and when reading the label it says "not safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women".  Should I not take these, or is it just a precautionary statement that they sometimes put on labels?  I am pretty sure that Andrea who is a vitamin expert on these boards said they were okay to take, but I want to be certain and see if any of you have taken them while pregnant?  Thanks!

Why do you want to switch to Centrum? Why not a good quality prenatal?

Regular Centrum has more vitamin A and the selenium than a prenatal. Both of those can be harmful to the fetus/baby. It's not a huge concern, but somthing that should be avoided.

A prenatal alone is not enough for someone who had RNY is it?  This is what I have been taking: 4 optisource a day, 2 B-12 sublinguals a day, 2 calcium citrates a day, and a prescription prenatal a day.  I don't like the chewable vitamins and thats why I was wanting to change to a swallow centrum.

I think you will be fine if you take 2 Centrum a day. Also, try to get at least 1500mg of calcium citrate and add extra D3. Ask your surgeon about a B12 shot, so you can get it once a month.

I take 2 of the walgreen's generic of centrum and my prenatal also.  Now I am worried that it's too much vit A.
