Anyone else with adhesions?
I will be 30 weeks tomorrow. For the last few months I have had really bad pain in my right upper abdomen. Yesterday it got so bad that my husband had to pick me up from work because I was doubled over in extreme pain.
From work I went to my OB and she sent me to my bariatric surgeon thinking that it could be gastric related due to my band. In the OB office I had a sono and Blake looks great, and the placenta is still very much attached. I guess upper pain in your right side can be a sign of placental abruption. My surgeon, with permission from my OB, sent me for a CT. They were thinking bowel obstruction or my intestines being kinked around the Band tubing. Turns out it's adhesions from my previous gallbladder surgery. If I wasn't pregnant then my surgeon would scope me and fix the adhesions but since I am so late in the game then doing anything surgically could cause me to go into preterm labor. So here I am, still in a lot of pain. Blake is getting so large that he is pushing up on my upper abdomen and causing any previous surgical scar tissue to become irritated. My OB said that until he drops lower into my uterus that it will probably continue to hurt. Now that I have a definitive diagnosis I am waiting to hear back from my OB what she suggests in the meantime.
Thought I'd ask you all since there are so many veterans around. Having all had abdominal surgery I was thinking that maybe someone has "been there done that". After work I plan on buying an exercise ball and bouncing on it to see if it helps at all. Blake is breech on top of everything else so his cute little head is directly under everything instead of his feet.
