Birth Story
Wow, it is hard to believe that Juliette is 8days old already.
Her birth story is pretty easy since it was a scheduled C/S. Jason got to be home for the delivery so he and I went to the hospital at 6am on Nov. 1. Checked in, got prepped, and were in the OR by 7:45. Going in I still thought I would have another boy (even though I hoped for a girl) and my hubby thought girl. They let me take a mirror in and I held it up after they got to the uterus. I was able to see her coming out and that she was a girl right away. Needless to say I cried and cried. Surgery ended and off to recovery I went. I got really sick from the Demerol in my epidural so they took it out and put me on a morphine drip. We called the family and told them to come around noon since I was still so sick.
When we got up to my post-partum room the family came in and they brought her to me. We had Jackson sit on my bed and uncovered her and opened her diaper so he could see if he had a brother or sister. He was so cute. He said "Where's his peesee (penis) and why does the baby have a bottom (good analogy for girl parts)." The whole room was thrilled to learn that we had had a girl. And Jackson decided to call her "Chainsaw" since we had yet to pick the name. Then my in-laws got there. Now there hadn't been a girl on my hubby's side of the family in over 50years so and my mother-in-law assumed she would get another grandson. When we told her we had a girl, she almost fell out. She screamed and sat on my and just cried and cried.
Finally after a little debating we decided to name her Juliette Carter Dobbs. Juliette is a form if Julia which is biblical and my middle name is Lee. Also Jason's grandmother and great-aunt were from Juliette, GA. Carter is for Jason's middle name and his mother's maiden name. She weighed 8lbs2oz and was 20 3/4 inches long.
She is nursing great and I am having to supplement because of breast reduction surgery. But with my supplemental nursing system she gets formula while also nursing. I am also pumping and only get about 2oz total in 24hrs, but it is a dark creamy yellow and I am thrilled. She only gets up once a night to eat and I hope it stays that way. Last night she ate a 10:30, 3:30, and 6:20.
Thank you all for your support during this pregnancy and the bleeds. I can't believe I have 2 post-op babies now and was told I wouldn't be able to have children on my own. So for all of you struggling out there, don't give up hope.

Congratulations!!!
This one is a boy andn when I told my daughter who is 3, that it was a boy she had a total melt down...see she is the ONLY girl on our block. 12boys run our block. She then looked at me with big ol tears in her eyes and says NO MORE PRINCES WE NEED PRINCESSES!!! gotta love her.
love the name. I love it when names have meanings behind them and not just what is "popular". Each of mine have a reason behind theirs.

Your story brought tears to my eyes!
I'm so happy that you and your family got a little girl!! I have no idea how you were able to wait... that's the ULTIMATE surprise!
Oh, and I definitely prefer Juliette over "Chainsaw," LOL!! Make sure to write that one down in her baby book.

Jackie,
Glad to hear everything went well for you and Juliette (love the name!). I bet you're thrilled to pieces with a little girl!
I knew we were close in due dates (3 days different), but wasn't sure how close the births would be. I had my little boy, Gage, on Nov. 2nd.
Amazing aren't they?
Congratulations,
Kina
