C-section

I am having my csection in about 3 days on 11/11. I am so excited to meet this little guy, but I am so scared about my csection. I had a previous csection almost 5 years ago with my daughter, and it was HORRIBLE!  It was the worst ever experience, and I don't want to freak anyone out, but just want you to understand why I am so scared. About a week after my csection, it came open again and fluid was everywhere, for the next 3 weeks home health care came to our house twice a day to pack and clean it. It kept getting infected and wasn't healing, so finally they advised me to get a second opinion from a surgeon, so I did, and I ended having to have the wound reopened. So, I had another "cesection", and they had had to leave the wound open, and I had to wear a wound pump for the next 3 to 4 weeks and it healed up, but it was all just a PAIN. I am so praying for a better experience this time. I would like to enjoy my time off from work. Thanks for listening.

Yes, I have a different Dr, and have heard she is VERY good at csections, so that was my reason for picking her. I am trying to stay optimistic that everything will be differnt this time.

I had a friend that had the EXACT same thing happen! But the good news is...when she had her second child 2 years after this incident, it was a uneventful csection! I don't think you should worry too much! You have a different dr now so you should feel better about that. Just relax and enjoy this time! You get to meet your baby boy soon!<3

I can TOTALLY relate with ya on this one!!!!  Three years ago I went through a similar experience and ended up with a wound vac for several weeks and was open for about 7 weeks through the entire ordeal!

When I got pregnant 15 months later with my son, I sought out a different OB purposefully because of that ordeal!  The OB I went to who delivered my son this time actually made the c-section incision only 2 inches below my belly button AND he put in a drain tube which he left in for 10 days!!!  Talk about lots of pre-cautions!  I still ended up with one tiny 1-inch opening BUT that was NOTHING compared to the 3 inches deep 8 inches long opening I had last time!

I hope your experience this time will be much better as well!

I had something very similar happen to me. With my first daughter I went through all of labor and 3 hours of pushing which ended up needing a C section. I thought all was fine at first but I went home and didn't seem like I was getting any better. I felt bad and light headed. Finally my wound opened up and was leaking everywhere. I went to the ER and was admitted with an infection in my incision. They opened me up and I spent a week in the hospital hooked up to some serious IV meds. I had to have my wound packed several times a day and because of the strong meds, my IV would not work more than 1 day at the most so they had to keep starting IV's in me and I'm a horrible find. I also had a horrible epidural headache and found out I was allergic to one of the medicines they gave me. It was a horrible experience! Well, I just had my 2nd daughter in June from a scheduled C section and I was super worried about it. I told the doc everything and we had a plan too which I recommend. I had no problems at all with the scheduled C section, it was the best ever!!!! I hope your experience the 2nd time around is as good as mine was.

On a more positive experience...I was induced for abby...I have a tilted uterous and after 6 hours of labor, they gave me my 2nd epidural and all I remmember if people screaming CODE and then telling my husband he needed to leave the room adn then I heard...wife or daughter.....I came back and ended up having a delightful c-section. NO issues after and was up and walking around within a day or 2. They offered me a natual birth for this one and I want nothing to do with it!!!! Good luck!
