How long did Dr. tell you to wait before pregnancy?

My Dr. said to wait 18- 24 months.  I have the Lapband.

I am 12 months out and have lost over 100 lbs.  I feel like my clock is ticking.  I am 36 years old and do not have any children yet and I feel like I am READY!!!!

Any thoughts?
Thank you

I  had RNY and my doctor said to wait 18-24 months out.  I think it's best to wait even though it can be difficult, it's really best for you and your baby to wait until the Dr gives the go ahead.  Best wishes to you :-)

My surgeon never brought it up.

18-24 months is the standard most doctors will tell you to wait but they do make exceptions depending on each individual.

Are you at your goal weight, no longer obese, healthy BP/etc? If so, try talking to your Doctor again, see what they have to say.

Are you at goal? If so, I personally do not see anything wrong with it.  Some Dr's are just a little overcautious because they do not like to be blamed for anything, lol.
But you need to be sure you are getting enough protien AND complex carbs. Also, take all your vitamins and extra folic acid.
Good luck!
