Mirena-IUD, what were your side effects
hey ladies, i am not one of the pregnant mommies here but having posted on here before i wanted to just post an update. last thurday (11/4) i went to my OB to have my mirena out. she started giving me crap about how mirena has no conclusive side effects and is supposed to help with acne and mood swings and how there is no such thing as the mirena crash and the fact that in 11 months i have only lost 30 pounds has nothing to do with mirena, i was responsive to her input but a little peeved by her lack of even listening to me, i mean... its my body... i lost 50lbs in the 5 months before i had it put in, after i had it put in i have only lost 30 lbs, i have been an emotional mess, almost lost my marriage, grew a beard practically and my acne and scars... horrifying....
well its been 11 days, i am down 7 lbs, for the first time in 11 months i dont have my period, my acne is subsiding and i have the mirena crash HARDCORE! the hormones and depression is overwhelming, and it hit withing 3 days of having it taken out. but... i notice a difference. for those of you who it works for, thats fantastic, for those who have it and are having second thoughts, dont wait as long as i did, listen to your body. from what i have read, its absolutely perfect and amazing for some women and just not right for others, but if you arent sure and you have people telling you that you're wrong for feeling its not right for you, get a second opinion. the best thing i ever did was get it taken out!
good luck!

Thank you for posting this! I have had mine for 4 months now. I read up on it lots before I had it so I would know what to watch for. I love not having periods, but the acne is killing me! It is disgusting!!! I am having RNY on Monday and as soon as I am able to take pills I am having this thing removed! What did you switch to? Did your sex drive change? I believe mine is, I could care less about it now! LOL
