Another worried soon-to-be mother

Good afternoon All,
I have been following most of everyone's posts on here for about 2 months now, around the time my fiancee and I started TTC. Well, we were lucky enough to conceive in September and now I'm 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Early I know, but I have a lot to worry about. We found out last week it's Twins!!! Totally excited, and absolutely freaked out and scared at the same time. This is my first pregnancy, and I'm just about 17 months out from GBS.
I have already lost 5 pounds since finding out about the pregnancy, and I have been SUPER nauseated and not able to eat much. Even taking my prenatals is becoming a very hard chore. I'm worried that I'm not going to get enough nutrients for BOTH babies and myself in this state and I need some words of encouragement or tricks of the trade from women who have been through this please! I've already ended up in the ER once for not being able to keep any food down and in conjunction with the surgery, I super dehydrated myself.
Is it really all that different having twins as opposed to one (specifically during pregnancy)? At 7 weeks, am I still at a high risk for miscarriage and if so, when do they usually happen? Overall, do y'all think I'm going to be alright?

Thank You in advance for any words of advice or encourgement!

Congratulations!

I've never had twins so I can't tell you about that!
If you don't have anything that automatically makes you a high risk for miscarriage then you probably aren't. I know from my own previous experience that 12 weeks was the milestone to be somewhat "out of the woods".
I can't imagine the feelings you are going through. How exciting that you've been blessed not once but TWICE!
Good luck!

I am oregnant with twins also. Lost about 9 pounds so far but I just keep eating and sipping water all day long. Pills I try to space as much as I can. I take 2 prenatals a day and also folic acid and iron. Along with regular calcium too. My doctor said miscarriage risk with twins can happen at any time and all you can do is be careful. I have worried about the vaishing twins and all but I reliezed I needed to quit looking at that stuff and driving myself nuts. I just eat and drink and take my pills all day long. LOL. I am now about 13 weeks along. Have not seen my babies in a month and hoping to hear them tomorrow at my appointment. I am also 35 and about to be 36 so I have a few more issues. I also have a clotting disorder. So I have to add in lovenox shots daily too and hoping the one clot in my uterus is gone by next ultrasound next Tuesday! Just do day by day and dont read up too much or you will focus on what could happen and all. Just breathe!

There are quite a few moms out here who have had multiples and I'm sure they'll pop in and help you out and tell you things are normal...'cause it sounds normal to me from what I've heard of their pregnancies.  I haven't, however, been there myself (w/the multiples).  Hopefully someone can pop in and tell you about the types of meds available to help out w/morning sickness...maybe something like that would help.

Re the miscarriage question...unfortunately, I'm a pro at that...and I can tell you there's no way of knowing when it'll happen...it just happens.  Being dehydrated or having morning sickness isn't likely to cause it.  There's nothing you can do to prevent it, you're not doing anything to cause it....and trust me, worrying about it doesn't help either, it just stresses you out.  Just take your pregnancy one day at a time and even when you're 'praying to the porcelain god,' enjoy your pregnancy and be thankful for every heave you have.  Sip your water - don't take big drinks so your stomach 'realizes' there's something in there, and do the best you can regarding food.

Here's three hugs for you [[HUGS, HUGS, HUGS]] - one for you and one for each baby.  Congrats and good luck...and welcome to the board.
