I am a planned C-section and am wondering for those of you out there that were too, did you have any complications after your sections?  I have 8.6cc in my 10cc band and was due for a fill 2 days after I found out I was pg, so I am more open that I should.  So far haven't had any complications other than all day nausea, but no puking or PB's.

Just wondering what to expect out of my band, or to potentially expect.

Thanks

I did. I kept 6.5 cc's in my 10 cc band throughout my pregnancy, hardly any morning sickness but towards the end I PB'd much more than normal cause of the baby pressing on things. A few hours after my scheduled C section I tried eating soup and it got stuck. I thought I had PB'd it all up and then an hour later tried to hydrate myself again with water and it got stuck. The nurses just thought I was nauseated from the meds and I had to explain it is not nausea. It took them awhile to believe me. I basically had to demand they call my surgeon and so he came and unfilled me completely. I retained lots of water with my C sections. It was crazy how huge my ankles got with both of them. It is taking me a long time to get good restriction now and it's frustrating, but I am not sure that part has to do with my pregnancy. Feel free to send me any messages or questions you might have.

I had 8cc's in my 10cc band, and I recently had 4 removed. I wasn't PBing or getting stuck or anything... but I was getting shoulder pain, which is an indicator that things are "tight."

I am not a planned c-section; I dunno if I will have one yet at this point or not.

I'm really happy that I had some fluid taken out of my band. I'm definitely having to be mindful of what I eat, though. I've gained 13 pounds since having my unfill... and it's because I'm eating and drinking a lot more than I was before. (Around 2 cups now instead of 1/2 a cup.)

I've had two planned c-sections with the band.   I don't keep a tight fill and I didn't have any problems either time.  When my first was about 3 months old I started getting reflux and had to get an unfill, but I can't really say that was anything from the c-section.
Congrats!

I had some taken out during the first trimester as I had HORRIBLE morning sickness. I kept that same fill during my pregnancy. I could eat a little more in my third trimester (still no bread, etc). I had induction and failure to progress so had a c-section. Post c-section I was TIGHT! I had talked to my OB before delivery about the fear of being tight after the baby and so glad I did. She put in my medication orders for liquid iron and liquid pain medicine. They crushed up the ibuphrophen in vanilla pudding. I will say it all tasted gross but I was SO TIGHT! I basically ate popsicles, water, and grape juice (to chase any time I took meds). Each day it got a little better. By about five days post baby, I was back to able to eat like a someone with a tight fill.

Now, almost 2 1/2 months post baby, I have restiction back. I have been waiting for my hormones to calm down before I go get a fill. Some days are tighter than other so I am trying to get myself time to get adjusted back to normal so I won't have good and bad days.
