Interesting start to my Friday work day (Sorry so long)

So I was sitting at my desk Friday morning. I had just got to work. I was feeling fine. I was snacking on a nutrigrain bar. Then all of sudden I felt light headed and dizzy. I literally felt like I was going to pass out. So I made it to the bathroom. I was extremely hot and sweaty. I had to concentrate so hard not to hit the floor. I kept telling myself its nasty on that floor. Its nasty on that floor. I began to take my shirt off. That was how hot I was. I thought I was going to literally black out in any moment. I willed myself to put my shirt back on and just make it to my supervisor's desk. I saw her and I told her I don't feel well. She said ok do you need to leave. I said yes but I can't drive. Call my mother to come and get me. So she said ok. Let's go to my office. Have a seat I will get you some water. So she brings me water and someone else brings me cider. I must have really looked bad because another one of my supervisors came in (I have three) they said call in the code. I work for an insurance company so when someone gets really sick they call a code and all the doctor's and nurses come running to make sure you aren't dying or anything. So they checked my BP. Normal. I was starting to feel better. Although I was starting to get embarrassed by all the people standing around. Including co-workers. So they call the ambulance. Ambulance comes and wheels me out of there for the whole world to see. I get to the hospital and I am starting to feel a whole lot better. Weak but better. So they pump fluids in me. They said I was dehydrated. Gave me a script for antibotics for a UTI and sent me on my way. I have no clue as to what that was about? Anyone have any ideas.

Sounds scary... sorry that happened to you. I've heard of people having lightheadedness and/or fainting brought on by pregnancy... I never had this happen during my pregnancies, but I think it's fairly common.
I guess all you do is try to stay super-hydrated for the rest of your pregnancy, and maybe bring one of those mini-fans to have at your desk at work???

Good luck,

I go through this all of the time; about 3 times a week, but sometimes multiple times a day. My OB called it positional high blood pressure. If you'd have checked your bp on the floor I bet you it would be drastically different than what was when they checked it in the office.  When this happens to me, mine can spike to 160 /90 and then drop and be normal at 117/60 in 10 minutes. It's really annoying. I went through it last year when I was pregnant and it didn't start until about 33 weeks, but this time it has started way earlier (20 weeks). Espisodes like yours sometimes can be caused by blood sugar fluctuations as well.

Here's hoping it doesn't keep hapening to yah.

This has happened to me, too. Mine is brought on by low blood sugar, dehydration, or drastic changes in temperature.

The worst time, I went to bed early one night and skipped dinner. Then, I woke up the next morning and took a hot shower. When started blow-drying my hair, all of a sudden I started getting "tunnel vision"... I felt like I was blacking out... and I got SUPER hot and got pins and needles all over my body. I don't remember what happened after that, but somehow, I made it downstairs. When I came to, I was sitting naked on the kitchen floor in front of the refrigerator, sipping on ice water. I felt shaky the rest of the day, but I was functional.

The moral of the story is, make sure you eat AND drink enough. Especially watch your fluids... I've never been the type to drink water all day long, but I sure do now!! LOL

Thats my exact symptoms of hypoglycemia.  I get super hot/sweaty and dizzy to the point of fainting.  I bet the cider is what made you feel better almost instantly.
