STRESSFUL FEW DAYS

On Wednesday, I went for my weekly appt with Biophysical profile, which I have been doing for about 6wks. They've been doing measurements/baby's weight every 2 weeks. My amniotic fluid has been measuring really good (between 9-14). Well, this week, it measured 5. My Blood Pressure was also high & My feet were very swollen. So, My OB called the high risk OB. They decided that I should go to L&D which is at another hospital about 30 minutes away where the high risk Dr. is located. I get to L&D and they said that they didn't know I was coming, but went ahead & got me in a gown & hooked up to the monitors. 5 minutes later, they come in & say the Dr. wants me to come to the office. Really??? So, I go to the office & have an ultrasound. He says the fluid is pretty low & baby is measuring very small (4th percentile). So, he sends me back to L&D to be admitted to a room. While I was there,  I had 2 PIH panels &  24 urine that were normal. They repeated the ultrasound & fluid was the same. So, they let me come home last night. I had to go back to my Dr. today for another appt & Biophysical. Fluid is still around 5. I have to go twice a week for appts & Biophysicals. They are going to measure her again in 2 weeks. I feel very uncomfortable waiting 2 weeks. I know I'm probably just being a paranoid Mommy, but she hasn't grown much at all in 10 days. So, what if she's in there for 2 more weeks without growing? I know I should rest & not stress, but that's near impossible. I feel so guilty like I'm not doing enough : (  I want her to be big & healthy. At this point, I'll settle for healthy. Thanks for listening !

When I was pg they would not measure her more often than every 3 weeks.  The tech said most insurance companies won't cover it because it is overkill.  I know how hard it is to relax but if she is passing her biophysical profiles then things should still be safe for her.  If you are really worried your doctor may allow you to get twice weekly BFPs.

I know it's really hard, Try to remember that percentiles only mean that other people's babies are bigger or smaller.... not that something is wrong. If they thought she was in immeadiate danger they would pull her out! Her lungs need a couple more weeks to be prepared for breathing. It is nerve wracking I know, I had a scare like this with my son at 30 weeks.

Have you been leaking fluid? Or dehydrated? With my son they kept saying my fluid was low (a 6) but when I delievered it came gushing out. My Dr was baffled said he must have been hiding a pocket of it behind him. I didn't care I was just happy he was ok and coming out. (we made it to 39 weeks)

Good luck hun, while you are panicking (which no one can blame you for); Try to remember that she's ok... for the time being and trust the doctor you have chosen.

Hugs and prayers.

Thanks Guys : ) I know that my Dr.'s are only doing what is best for us. We are doing Biophysical Profiles twice a week on Mon & Thurs. So, I only have a few days to worry in between checks : ) I am not leaking fluid. They checked that right after the fluid measured so low. That's what is so strange. Last week it was 11.  This week, it is 5. I know amniotic fluid is really hard to measure accurately. They didn't want to give me fluids while I was in the hospital because of the PIH. I'm just so worried about her growth. I do want to her to stay inside as long as possible. My twins were born @ 31 wks. So, I know the stresses & worries of having a premature baby. I'm gonna stay positive & try my best to be good @ being on "bed rest" !!!
