Hi, everyone!

I just got back from my OB appointment. I officially gained 12 pounds since my last appointment one month ago. My OB didn't even mention it until I asked her, and she said, "Oh, I wasn't even going to mention it... but yeah, it is a little aggressive." LOL

So we discussed it and she basically told me not to worry so much. I was like, "But you originally told me not to gain more than 15-20 pounds for the entire pregnancy!" She said that was a guideline and that everyone is different. My diet is awesome (aside from an occasional indulgence) I brought her my diet journal so she could see what I have been eating, and she was impressed that I cared enough to write it down, haha.

My glucose test results came back perfect!

We took my belly measurement and it's right on schedule at 26 weeks. (I'm 25w 5d today.) My blood pressure is awesome at 120/70 (same as it's always been) and the baby's heartbeat is strong and lovely.

Thanks to all *****sponded to my thread yesterday! I appreciate you telling me about your experiences.

Well, sounds like we both have really cool drs! My dr has never mentioned anything about my weight gain at all so far. I'm actually seeing 4 different obs since I'm in a larger practice and my NP is a post bypass patient herself. Last visit, I was up 8lbs total...dropped a lb from the month before, but she said my weight gain was excellent thus far and not to be afraid of the numbers on the scale. Gaining weight is an unfortunate part of pregnancies and we post surgical patients put too much stress and emphasis on the numbers and just need to focus on eating healthy and getting plenty of fluid and exercise as best we can.

That's great that your numbers came back wonderfully as well! It feels good getting those good numbers doesnt it?? I really think that quitting smoking as greatly affected my blood pressure numbers and I just love hearing the numbers now when I'm in the office.

25 weeks already huh? Wow where has the time gone? I swear it's like yesterday I was finding out I was even preggo!! :O

I just wanted to say that getting an unfill seems to make weight just pounce on you immediately and has nothing to do with pregnancy.   I've been unfilled for 5mos? And I put on 8lbs in not even a week.  I didn't do anything different, it was just WHAM Biotch, take that!  I have to confess that I think we or at least I did not drink as much as I did post-band and as soon as I got  wide open I couldn't drink enough water, crystal lite etc.  It was like I hydrated my body with 8lbs of water.  So, I swear, the 8lbs was a given and I was mortified.  The rest I will claim as my own.

Anyways, not having any restriction is great and sucks at the same time.  Old habits die hard.  I've gained 20lbs (NOT Preggo) and I am fighting every step of the way - eating good wholesome food and exercising.  The thing is I am hungry a lot, food is my thing and I like a lot of good food,  and habit.  Worst of all for me is that I can eat unlimited amounts of bread .   My favorite, an 11 grain whole wheat bagel with lots of lite cream cheese - OMG, it's making me morbidly obese, BUT it is oh so good.

Just make good choices.  You look amazing in your pics.  Worry not, just be mindful.

Blessings,
Leila
