I had my open RNY in 2006 and currently am due Dec 25th with a little boy. I will be going through all the posts I can but has anyone who has had an open RNY had complications having a vaginal birth? I am worried about the straining when pushing as I have already had a belly button hernia that was repaired but there is another smaller one below my breast bone.  My OB said it is up to me if I feel ok trying for natural or just go for a C-section but I am having anxiety over making this hernia worse so leaning towards the C-section. This is our first pregnancy so I have no clue what I am in for, any input would greatly help!

I had an open RNY in 2003 and delivered a healthy baby boy vaginally in 2007 with no complications. Two separate body  systems (digestive versus reproductive) so the pregnancy and pushing should not be impacted. I did not have a hernia so unsure on that part but again would not think that would immediately require a csection either.
