How was your period post partum???

Ok so I bled for the usual 6 wks postpartum and then my period has been all wacky since then.  I am not nursing and so I got the normal period after I had my baby, but I've pretty much bled for the most part since I had my baby 6 1/2 months ago!!!  I've had to wear a pad every day almost because I don't know if I'm going to be bleeding or not and I hate it!!

I talked to my ob/gyn and I've been on Lo-Estrin (lowest form of bc out there, actually on Junel, which is the generic of that) and he's hoping it'll even out my hormones and get me on a regular menstrual cycle again.   I'm starting on my 4th month of it and it's getting better but I'm still spotting here and there.  I'm hoping this is the last month I have to be on this stuff.

I have a Mirena IUD in, so it's not the birth control I care about because that is taking care of not making any more babies.  I just want my period to be back to once a month for 5-7 days!  Before I got pg last summer, I would have a normal period (pretty light) for a few days and that'd be it.  Now it's all screwed up!!  This didn't happen to me after my other 2 kids, so this is all new to me.
I've always had a normal period and it's come every 28-30 days.  After I lost all the weight, it was just a light period every month.

Anyone else  have this problem and how did you fix it?  How long did it take to go back to a normal period?

My period is the same way! If I'm not bleeding I'm spotting!! It drives me nuts!! I am bf'ing a 10 month old and on no bc. My dr thinks it's my body starting to ovulate and getting fertile again!! So I'm in the same pad wearing boat as u!!

Well...I have the same problem... but I didn't have a baby.  I actually just went for my one month Mirena check.  They tell me that my constant daily spotting is being caused by the Mirena.  :(  If it doesn't stop within the next 5 months, they agreed to give me some estrogen to stop the bleeding.  But I sure as heck don't want to wait that long.  It's driving me nuts already.  I am going to ask my pc doc if he will give me the lo-E before then.  :(  Otherwise, I just may have to ditch this thing.

Congrats on your baby...  I have pcos and hope that I might try to conceive once I get to a safer point.

The IUD messes with your cycle.  I had mine put it at 6 weeks post and flowed heavy for 3 mths, and then I started spotting for a couple months.  Eventually the spotting stopped and I haven't had any bleeding for months.    Everyones different though.
