Pain in left side
I haven't had RNY so I can't speculate on your drain site- but it MAY be round ligament pain instead. Mine got so bad that I had blood work and a sono done to check my liver. I do notice that everytime I start hurting pretty bad that within a few days my belly grows and my clothes get tighter. Hopefully this is all your experiencing too.

I get that left side pain also...and of course I notice it more as I am pregnant. I have no idea what the pain is from before the pregnancy. But now I blame it on the pregnancy because once in awhile both sides will hurt but for some reason its my left side more. I blame it on the uterus stretching and everything and pushing your organs out of the way for the baby to grow. And I also have realized my baby girl loves to chill on my left side more than anything LOL..as she is getting bigger I can tell cause my belly looks lopsided where she loves to be.
I have had pain on my left side near one of my old incisions during both of my pregnancies..after my dtr it never completely went away...went to PCP- he said I had reflux (which I knew I didn't the pain wasn't centrally located it was right near my port site)....went to my WLS Dr- he told me adhesions and possible hernia's...having surgery on Nov 9th. Yippee. Keep an eye on it, if you start to get like you cant eat or you vomit, you really need to see your WLS Dr too. My WLS Dr told me that the areas where they do re connections tend to get hernia because people who are very successful at losing weight thin those new connections out (because of the thinning of their overall body- he said they can get paper thin)...and pregnancy strains some of those spots as we expand (I didn't even get big with my girls). Good luck.
I couldnt believe it when I saw your post. Yesterday, I too started having sharp pains very close to where my drain was. I was on the internet trying to figure out if it was my gallbladder or appendix but quickly learned they are on the right side. Its not as bad tody but definitely still there. I have an ultrasound Friday, maybe they can tell me. Keep me posted if you figure anything out & I will do the same. It sounds like we have exactly the same issue. I am about 7 weeks so i think its way too early for round ligament pain.good luck!
