Pregnant Post-ops, What labs are you getting???
Please, no flames BUT...Due to not having insurance coverage for obstetric care before this, I have only had very minimal labs done. I still owe close to $600 on those! Ugh.
Anyway, now that I have coverage, I would like to get labs done right away for nutritional and vitamin levels. I go on Tuesday to talk to my new doctor about this and would like a little insight as to what kind of bloodwork you all are having so far.
I'm 20 weeks along and take all my supplements and then some and have also added protein shakes and extra eggs lately to up protein now that I actually feel like eating them!

I've been here since 2002, I just like to pretend I am NEW!
My doctor hasn't added any additional bloodwork except for my A1C levels at my 16 week appointment to check my sugar levels versus making me do the glucose test. She told me that they will check my A1C levels again at my 24 or 28 week appointment, but my levels came back at 73, so on the low end of the spectrum so as of now she's seen no cause for concern. I have to admit I'm a horrible vitamin taker and about 8 months out from surgery I stopped taking all the vitamins except for the multi I've taken every day thereaftter. I'm on prenate essential vitmains and nothing else. At my 2nd appointment she did a full blood work up and checked all my levels and said that everything was perfect, so I might be bad example, but those are my dealings thus far with my OB.
