Leg Cramps

Oh my goodness, leg cramps from H*LL!!!

I know this has been posted on here before by others...at the time I wasn't having them so I don't recall what the remedies are...but HELP!

For the last week or two the leg cramps while sleeping have gotten very uncomfortable.
I know potassium would help, but I can't eat bananas. The sugar in them (even half a banana) is too much for me!!!

What other options do I have?

Please and thank you,
Jessica

There are other potassium-rich foods you could try...Apricots, raisins, figs, and potatoes are all high potassium. They actually have way more potassium than a banana (example, apricots have 1380 mg and bananas have 400 mg) Could you try some of those foods? (I know some have higher sugar though).  You could also try drinking more water in the evening.

Didn't realize apricots wre so high in potassium. Definitely not a fruit I see sold often though...hmm, might keep an eye out for it. Not sure about the sugar though...trial and error

I will definitely try for more water since that also seems to be a common consensus.

Thanks for the suggestions!!  :-)

Drink more water! I was getting wicked ones from dehydration. I eat bananas and potatoes, etc, so I know they weren't caused by a potassium deficiency, although that's usually the culprit.

Also, when you feel one coming on, either stand up immediately, or flex your toes back as far as you can toward your shin. That stretches out the calf muscle and usually relieves the cramp instantly.

Water....that has to be the key because I have a HARD time getting water in...I've been cheating by drinking tea....just to get some liquids in.

But the cramps happen as I'm in bed sleeping...I hate the idea of getting up and moving when all I want is like 5 more minutes of sleep!  LOL.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely try to push for more water  :-)

Yep, that's when they strike me, too. I'll be in the middle of a sound sleep and then all of a sudden I about go through the roof, lol. I think it's because I stretch in my sleep... because I've noticed when I'm laying in bed and I'm all cozy and I stretch, I have almost given myself leg cramps. So I've learned to flex and stretch my legs from my thighs instead of from my calves. A couple of weeks ago, I had a calf cramp so bad, it actually left a BRUISE and I walked with a limp for 4 days!

Walmart sells something called "Leg Cramps"  It's just under $5.00 a bottle and it awesome for those leg cramps.  I had them really bad for a long time and I just took 2 of them a day and it took care of it completely.

Yes, it's fine if you're preg.  It's just a vitamin, has potatssium, vitamin D, and calcium and fixed my issues right away.

I had terrible leg cramps with all the of my baby boys.  My potassium was fine each time.  They checked.  My doctor told me to soak in ho****er, just my legs, right before I went to bed and put a pillow under my legs during the night.  It did help some but not much.
