those who miscarried....when does your period come back?

I had my miscarriage (naturally) about 3 days ago. The night before, we had a sonogram that showed no heartbeat. I had an ultrasound that showed the uterus was completely empty, so thankfully no need for a D&C.
2 question that my Dr was a little vague on. How long did you bleed for, and when does your period come back? Right now I am just bleeding like a period. Thankfully, no cramping, just a little tired.
Thanks for any advice.

Sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and your dh.  As for the bleeding, I bled for roughly 2 weeks start to finish (like a period) then my periods returned about 5-6 weeks later, I never had d&c's with any of my 3 miscarriages, all of them were natural at home.  Hope this helps.

I bleed like a regular heavy period, but really crampy. Then my period returned in 4-5 weeks.

Four of my miscarriages were natural, and only one of them did I have pretty bad cramping - because I was further along with that one.  Bleeding is like a period - maybe lasts a tad bit longer though.  The D&C one, no cramping, very light like a period.

My cycle has come back on average between 3-5 weeks after each mc.
