Finally after 9 years a bfp!!!

After trying for 9 years my son is finally going to be a big brother. I can't believe it. I hope everything turns out ok. I have never had a misscarriage and I am so scared of that. I waited 9 years for this one. I can only leave it up to God.


I started a prenatal vitmain, is this all I should be taking?  I have read on here a hundred times what to do, but still in shock... any help would be appreciated!

A little about me.....

Hi! I am Brooke. I am a 31 years old and married to my high school sweetheart for 11 years now. We have a wonderful son named Alex who will be 10 in March (My St Pattys day baby) We live in VA and I own my own small business.

I just got my bfp 2 days ago and still in shock. Unlike some moms that keep the secret, I just couldn't. Everyone in my world knows. They know how long we have been trying and everyone is excited.

I just wanted to introduce myself. My first appointment is Monday just to confirm pregnancy they said and then my first ultrasound is for Nov 15th. Seems so far away, but happy it will be before Thanksgiving.

Congrats to you!  I have been trying for 6 years and have had two miscarriages along the way, but God is faithful and I just got my BFP last Thursday..we are THRILLED :-) 
I have two girls 10 and 8, so we are starting all over, but I welcome it gladly!  Best wishes to you and keep us posted!  Do you know when your due date is?

Congrats to you too! I am so scared. I am having some left side pain. Dr said ok as long as no bleeding or back pain. But I am still nervous. EDD is 6/23/11

You def understand about age gaps too then. I am hoping everything works out ok.

I have had some left side pain too and actually went in for a CT scan to see what was causing the pain only to find out I was pregnant and couldn't do the scan...hoping it's related to pregnancy and nothing serious.  Don't be scared though, it'll all be okay and what a blessing and miracle this is for the both of us :-)

I have had 2 post-op babies, one in 2007, and one in 2009 and the only thing additional my OB had me do was add an extra calcium each day as she said I was building lots of extra bones! 

I would talk to your OB, he may have his own recommendations as far as your vitamins.  Some drs. may want to monitor your blood levels a little more often.   

I can tell ya about the age gaps--I have a daughter who turned 16 last week, we tried for 12 years!  Then 3 days AFTER my husbands 40th birthday party, we found out I was pregnant with my now 3 year old!  I also have a 15 month old now as well! 

My babies were 6lbs 13oz and 7lbs 6oz, and I only gained 14 pounds and 2 pounds with each of those pregnancys!

OMG!! 9 years of trying and GOD finally said ok Brooke, now I think you're ready!!! Congrats Brooke!!! He may not come when you call, but he always come right on time. This is such a blessing. This reminded me of when I was trying with my now 3 year old Tyler. We were trying for over 4 years and I was exhausted and had everyone praying. What a blessing for you!!!!!! You go girl!!!!

I always take a Prenatal, a Multi-viatimin, Calicum Citrate, Iron and my B-12 shots. I need all of this because I got preggers too soon after surgery, so I'm not sure if you need all of the above.

I'm so happy for you and thanks for sharing with us. You'll find these ladies on here are so awesome and helpful. You can certainly lean on them for help as they're always here for me whenever I have a question or concern. Keep us posted on your milestones :)

CONGRATS!!! I have a daughter who is 6 and will be 7 when my baby is born and I DID not plan this one!! Congrats!
