How many of you DS patients were followed by a perinatologist during pregnancy and was this simply because of the DS?

I'm RNY but I was for that.  Just because of my wls.  there are a lot of high risk people on here just because of their wls, all types.

I am seeing midwives but have been seeing them at a high-risk clinic.  They consult with peris and OBs as needed but I have not seen any peri directly (and I don't want to!)  I am high risk due to a history of hypertension, not because of my DS.  I'm not having any problems due to my DS, other than a few vitamin and mineral levels I need to tweak, and I prefer midwifery care to OB care, big-time.

I only went to a peri twice. It was more because I would be a month shy of 35 when i had Lex- not so much the DS.

Hope this helps!
