Orange Mucus in Normal Poopy diaper
Hi....
Back again.......we have an appointment for our follow up to our ER visit tomorrow, but I do have a question. The ER dr said that what she saw in her diaper before we left the ER was normal due to the irritation that Anushka has on her anus, but should get better.
Since that visit Saturday, we have had the orangish/brown mucus with every poopy diaper. I pretty calm about it because of what the ER dr said, but am wondering if anyone elses babies have experienced this. She is still eating regularly, passing gas and acts just fine. No fever, not fussy.......another thing the ER dr said, if she is in pain or uncomfortable, she wouldn't sleep and be unconsolable.....which she obviously is not.
I have also read online that this could indicate an allergy to dairy.
Thanks ladies!! I appreciate being to come here for answers!

I don't mean to sound rude because you may have missed my post but I responded to your er post suggesting that your daughter may have a milk protein soy intolerance (mspi) and gave a link to an online quiz to take as well. If you haven't looked into mspi I urge you to do so. Mucous and/or bloody (not always visible blood) stool, rashes, and reflux are the main symptoms. Even though ER doctors are highly qualified individuals they may not be able to properly diagnose an mspi. From my research many people even have pediatricians that don't diagnose it properly. If in fact your daughter has an mspi it can be of varying severity. She would need to be on a hypo formula. There is nutramigen or alimentum which are sold in stores but some babies need something even more hypo. My daughter had a bloody stool while on nutramigen and her GI doc that we see for her reflux put her on neocate formula that we get from the pharmacy. Good luck with figuring things out.
