Pics of our bebe at 13wks...also serious question...
Hi...so I woke up this morning bleeding extremely red blood...I have not had any bleeding my entire pregnancy and literally freaked...I went to the ER and found out it was just a blood clot under the placenta which the doc said will probably bleed another few days...HAS ANYONE EVER HAD OR HEARD OF THIS?
After having a pap, check-up, and ultra-sound...the doctor pronounced the baby as "doing well'...We saw the baby's heart beating as well as heard the beat...also saw my baby moving around quite a bit. Although all seems to be normal...I'm still scared...this is my first sucessful pregnancy and have a history of early miscarriages...so does anyone have this problem or know anything about it...Thanks!

My first pregnancy was a mc, and then I got pregnant again (still am) and I bled from about 9-10 weeks right through to 16. Sometimes really red blood, and lots, sometimes just old brown blood. Docs kept telling me everything was fine, don't worry.
Still pregnant, and really an uneventful one.
Good luck!

I bled with all three of my boys. Sometimes bright red and sometimes brown. I did cramp like a period, with all that said.... I have three VERY busy boys. lol They are into everything, well except the last one. He is only 3 months but I am sure he will be just as bad as they are. You just have to laugh at them alot. lol They are so funny. I say, don't worry. Doctor should know best. I trusted mine and I was high risk with all of them. May God bless you.
I bled from about 2 weeks on. At ten weeks I had a hemmorhage and had tons of blood. It was about the scariest event of my life. The ER dr called it a subchorionic bleed. I bled for almost a week afterwards. Try to take it easy the next few days and drink lots of water. It is pretty common and they can't tell exactly what causes it to happen to some women but not others. I am now 27 weeks and the baby is doing fine. Usually once you have a heavy bleed it will subside altogether and you won't have any other episodes. Good luck!!!

At nine weeks I sat on the toilet and it was as though I were urinating blood I was bleeding so much. I definitely thought I had lost my baby...but, thank god, hadn't.
I bled both bright red and brown blood for about a month and then it suddenly stopped. It is definitely horrifying to see blood when pregnant but hopefully everything will turn-out ok for you!!!
On the positive side...you were able to get an ultra-sound and see your baby!! I know as a result of my bleeding I was able to see my baby long before most of my friends were given their first ultrasound, lol.

Quick update.....![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/secret.gif)
So I had pretty much stopped bleeding all together by the time I went to sleep last night (1am)...and when I woke up this morning there was absolutely NO blood!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/applause.gif)
Yeah this was one of the most scariest events of my life...the only thing that kept it from being one of the worst days of my life was the fact that I got to see my much loved baby...(and of course because my lil bean is doing well).![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/party4.gif)
Once again THANK YOU ALL for your support..you guys rock!![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/grouphuddle.gif)

I know you posted this a few days ago, but wanted to send a quick reply. I am 20 weeks and three days prego. Around the same time as you I had some what I felt was massive bleeding. Not spotting, not oozing but a stream of blood pouring out of me several times.... I FREAKED! (I have two children already. My oldest is a premie. With him I had begun bleeding due to a partial placenta previa abruption. So I too automatically assumed the worst this time around. )Come to find out there was a clot on my uteran lining that while one ultrasound report commented on nobody pointed it out to me NOR my Dr. (I've had numerous ultrasounds including one a week prior to the bleeding where the ultrasound Dr. actually asked if I'd had any bleeding.... Again no one mentioned the clot.
Due to the bleeding my OB ordered another ultrasound and thank goodness everything was fine. This time in the reports there was a note about the previous noted clot no longer being there. So apparently it had broke free causing the bleeding. I too had never heard of this happening during a pregnancy.... (So thank you for posting your question as it's nice to know I'm not the only one....)
Anyway, just wanted to say you are not alone and to wish you the best of luck!

I'm soooooooo glad to hear your pregnancy continues to progress normally and that your bleeding has stopped...how long did it last if you don't mind me asking? I've been told by an ER nurse to take low dose asprin (81mg) twice a day to help avoid clotting....since the bleeding only happens a few times throughout the day/night and now isn't heavy enough to even make it to a pad I'm praying and keeping my fingers crossed that all will continue to go well. Once again thanks so much for responding!

I tend to get long winded sometimes in my e-mails/responses and in an attempt to avoid that I forgot to mention the fact that you shouldn't get to concerned if it comes and goes for a while. For two or three days I bleed (both the bright fresh blood and the old looking brown blood). Enough to make it pad worthy. After that I spotted off and on both for probably a total of a week to a week and a half before it stopped completely.
I would REALLY check with your OB about the aspirin if you haven't already. (If your taking it.) It's funny, I know with our monthly periods we often pass clots and stuff but never even considered that fact that we may not completely clean out by the end of each period. I just wish that, for me, since they saw the clot and actually questioned me on the clot that they would have said "hey, heads up you may actually have some bleeding." It wouldn't have stopped me from seeing my OB right away, but at least wouldn't have left me wondering why they would ask me about bleeding and then start and be concerned that something was wrong that they didn't tell me about...
At five months along, my biggest complaint is that our son seems to think my bladder is a play thing... But trust me I don't complain to loudly because I am just greatful he's still with us to make me that uncomfortable.... ;o) If I can help any more at all, don't hesitate to ask....
Best wishes!
