Updates from our Dr. appts.
So I went to my appt. with my new obgyn today. I explained the issues I have been experiencing and she didn't want to "turn me away", but she did say there was not much she could do for me because I have more complicated issues with my period and cysts and she wants to send me to a Reproductive Endocrinologist to get down to the bottom of everything. I am very irregular and I was previously tested for PCOS and it turned out I do not have it.
Right after my appt., I went and met my DH at his Urologist appt. to discuss his SA results with the doctor there. He is putting my hubby on an antibiotic for 7 days and then he needs to get another SA done and then after that he goes back for a follow-up appt. to discuss results. The Urologist is convinced after looking at the original results that the issue of not getting pregnant lies more with me since his numbers are not extraordinarily low (doesn't make me feel too great to hear that...:-/)
So after his Urologist appt., I got right on my phone and set up an appt. for the Reproductive Endocrinologist appt. which I made for next Friday October 29th. I am really excited and I hope they can help us. I know people say that going to these doctors for help can become very expensive, but we are willing to pay whatever we need to get pregnant as it is our biggest dream to become parents.
I am so proud of my husband for being so supportive throughout this entire process. He even had to get examined today and I felt so bad he has to go through that, but after he got done he looked over at me with this grin and said "You're buying dinner!!!" LOL.
AF was also due on Wednesday, I KNEW I wouldn't get it on time... Ever since we started trying I have not had a normal period at all. And it's really frustrating to hear people just say "Hey! Maybe you ARE preggers!" When I know I'm really not! Ahh! lol.
Anyway, that's it.
I really loved my RE. I hope you like yours as well. Not all procedures done by an RE are excluded from insurance. Diagnostic testing should be covered so that you can know for sure what's going on. I only paid a copayment when I saw him.
Keep us posted! Praying for you guys!

NJ law requires health insurers to provide coverage for medically necessary expenses incurred in diagnosis and treatment of infertility, including medications, surgery, in vitro fertilization, embryo transfer, artificial insemination, gamete intrafallopian transfer, zygote intrafallopian transfer, intracytoplasmic sperm injection and four completed egg retrievals per lifetime of the covered person.
In other words - in NJ it is not considered "elective", rather it is deemed medically necessary.
Best of luck,
