Engorgement....
Really all you can do is pump pump pump (since baby isn't latching) Have you spoken to a LC to see why baby won't latch? It could be something simple like positioning that can be easily corrected.
Hand expressing the extra milk in a warm shower will also help, but pretty much everything is a temporary cure until you get breastfeeding established.
Goodluck!

Try doing a longer pumping on just that side to drain it. A couple of times I had a duct get clogged and it felt like I was really engorged so I hooked myself up and pumped one side for 15 or 20 minutes, and it cleared it up.

Mom to two of the cutest boys on earth.
If your breasts are anything like mine, ( large and hangy... lol is that a word?) my lactation consultant recommended that I roll up a wash cloth and put it under my breast to help prop it up a bit so that all the milk ducts would get drained evenly. I was told however that pumping wasn't equal to nursing, that baby can get more out than the pump. Do you have a "hospital grade" pump? You can rent these, they are awesome and inexpensive. Check with baby's doctor to be sure baby doesn't have "tongue tie" which could be causing him to not nurse efficiently, which would frustrate him.
Oh, and cabbage leaves is what I was recommended too, but overuse will completely dry you up...
Hope this helps,
Suri

Try pumping in different positions to drain all the ducts. Another good way to get a plugged or sluggish duct loosened up is to take a disposable diaper, fill it with ho****er (not hot enough to burn your boob, though!) and kind of shape it around your breast. Let it sit there until it cools off. Feel your breast for hard spots/knots and if they are still there, keep repeating the diaper trick.
