Hi all,
I've had my lapband for almost three years and am ten weeks pregnant. I having been having really bad gas pain throughout and I am wondering if it might be due to or related to my band? Has anyone else experienced this during pregnancy? Any tips or suggestions on how to control or lessen it?

Thanks!
Dee

No experience with the lapband, but I wanted to say Grats on your pregnancy!

I know one of my early pregnancy discomforts is always gas and bloating in the first trimester but it's usually gone by ~12 wks.

I am 2+ yrs out and 10 weeks pregnant too:)  The last couple weeks I've had really bad gas pains and what made it even worse was that it was stuck.  It wouldn't come out.  I also suffer from constipation pg or not.  A couple of days ago things finally started moving....yesterday adn today I think I have upstaged my husband:)  Not sure why the gas is so bad.  I have craved fruits fruits and more fruits!  Probably part of it:)
How to control it.......pu**** out!  I know it's gross but I'd rather do that then have it back up, cuz then it really hurts!
Good luck to you!  It's nice to see someone else on here that I am at the same stage in pg as and almost same band date:)

I delivered 6 weeks early a 5lb 15oz lil boy:)  After spending 2 months on bed rest in the hospital and Mason spending 11 days in the NICU, we're both home and doing great!  Mason is getting bigger and gaining weight like he should.  Now it's my turn to lose this weight!  It's tough to get back on the band wagon...I CAN do this!

I am happy to hear that I am not alone in this one, I have been wondering if it was something typical or if it was due to my band. My mom told me that she didn't have gas pain like this with me, so I was thinking it really had to do with my band. The dr. gave me the okay to take Gas-x, and when it gets really bad I'll have one chewable, and tghat does help some.

Good luck to you too!

Is it the kind of gas pain that radiates in your left shoulder? I get that too, sometimes. I swear, most women complain about how gassy they are when they're pregnant, but I couldn't fart if I tried, lol! Congrats on your pregnancy.

The gas pain is actually in my stomach, lots of pressure, it makes me nauseous at times, and eating often makes it worse. I haven't had gas pain in my shoulder since my surgery.

Congrats to you as well!
