Just found out....

I just found out I'm pregnant. We didn't plan this, in fact I was scheduled to have my tubes tied Oct 26th. I was also going to have a fill yesterday because I'm a little more open than I need to be however, that's obviously been put on hold.
Question is....for those of you that have been going through this, what should I expect? This is my 3rd kid so that is no prob. I was banded Aug 08....

I delivered 6 weeks early a 5lb 15oz lil boy:) After spending 2 months on bed rest in the hospital and Mason spending 11 days in the NICU, we're both home and doing great! Mason is getting bigger and gaining weight like he should. Now it's my turn to lose this weight! It's tough to get back on the band wagon...I CAN do this!

Thanks Karrie.....I come to your support group although I haven't been able to make many of them lately:) However, last time I was there I was stuck and had actually gained....well now I know why!

Congrats! I have the band, too. Pregnancy is definitely a different experience for everyone. I was banded in December 08 and this is my first baby. I've been REALLY fortunate in that I have had very minimal nausea. I keep the anti-nausea med Zofran on hand just in case of emergency (since we're supposed to avoid barfing in excess.)

Most doctors recommend having fluid taken out of your band upon finding out that you're pregnant. This would help prevent a slip that vomiting might cause, and of course would open you up so you can eat more. I haven't had any fluid removed from my band and I can eat just fine.

I can't help you with the band because I had the RNY, but I too had a surprise in july...I am due April 3rd...my bypass was may 08 and I did not plan on another one..infact, we had to ahve fertility treatments to ahve the 1st! So I totally know how you feel!

Just wanted to say congratulations!! I hope you are happy...

I noticed you went to Dr. Joya. I had my RNY with him in Aug. 2005. I hope you had as good of an experience as I did! I love those people!!

Sorry, no real help with the lap band/pregnancy issue.. But you'll sure have lots of support here. When are you due?

I had a great experience with Dr. Joya and his staff, the whole thing was fanstastic! My mom went with me, it was really nice to be able to share that with her.
