Baby name Poll...Really not sure HELP>
OK..I already posted that I am having a girl and that I was going to name her
Summer Ja'layah Kay Evans. However I was also thinking the other way around.
Ja'layah Summer Kay Evans.
The reason I posted the name the other way is because I gave my husband the option to name the girl if we were having one and Id name the boy. Well he likes Summer and I like the other name. Now all of a sudden I am very depressed because I wanted to have a boy but now having a girl and I cannot even name her what I want to name her cause of the deal me and hubby made. Plus my husband has a hard time pronouncing words and remember that Ja'layah name. I have no idea why but his mouth is smaller than a normal person cause his jar is not big enough and his parents did not have the money for surgery to have it fixed. And we can do now..but the problem is..His mother is always in our way and says he should not have the surgery to fix his mouth. But thats besides the point. I am upset cause I like the name the other way around and I cannot name her that cause he can't say it or remember it. His memory is horrible to unless he wants to remember it. Typical Man.

I would stick with Summer, for the best interests of the baby. A lot of people in her schools and wokforce later on, may have trouble pronouncing the name, and cause her embarrasment. That is my personal opinion..I am not a big fan of parents burdening their kids with outrageous names. At my daughter's school assembly, the principal himself stumbled over 1/4 of the class he called up for awards. I felt bad for those kids.
I agree with the girl above. When she is 19 or 20, think about her joining the workforce and when she puts her name on her resume and how difficult it is for some to pronounce it. Please don't take any offense to this. My name is Eleni and I can tell you from personal experience having a difficult name to pronounce (yet incredibly unique!) can have it's downfalls. I think Summer is a beautiful name and I think that it should be up to you and your hubby, period. You both should come to a decision and make sure you're both happy with your decision! Good luck. :)
I am personally not fond of Ja'layah. At all. I LOVE Summer. It's beautiful

I am so with the crowd. If you still want to use the name, maybe consider removing the accent mark. Just do Jalayah. Like previous posters have commented, it will only cause confusion for your daughter in the long run. For example, I work in a hospital & our computer systems won't even recognize an accent mark in the name field. Funny story that just happened this week. We had a guy from over seas & his name is De' ath, but because they couldn't enter the accent mark, it showed up Death on the screen. Naming a Baby is HARD work. It's so permanent. Go with your heart : )
