Cloth Diapers..

You can actually use the G-diaper inserts in both the Flip and GroVia covers, I don't think its the inserts that people don't really like about the G-diapers so much as it is the covers. I could never get a good, secure fit with the G-diapers, and I hear that a lot about them. You can get just the Flip covers for pretty cheap, infact right now Cotton Babies has "second quality" flip covers for $9.95 and they offer free shipping!

I have NEVER had a mildew smell from my diapers, and if I did I would freak b/c that would gross me out big time. I am super sensitive to that smell too and that would make me RUN back to disposables LOL

Oh, the other thing about the Flip/Grovia vs. G-diapers thing is that both Flip and Grovia are a One SIze system, meaning that one cover will fit baby from birth to potty training, where as the G-diapers are sized so that you have to buy new ones every time your baby moves up a size.

So one G-diaper cover is $18 and will only fit for a period of time, where the Flip covers are $14 and will fit from the time you buy it until potty training. The Grovia's are $17, but they are also One Size.

Oh and if you haven't bought the g-diapers yet, check out GroVia before you do, they get much better reviews then the G-diaper, and I have used both and MUCH prefer the GroVia's. And another good hybrid system is the Flip system, they get amazing reviews, much better then any of the other hybrid, although I have never tried it so I can't really say. I have seen them at a local diaper shop though and I LOVE all the colors, and the company just started putting out prints too that are super cute.

I don't know much about it but I do know it is a lot easier that you think! Once you get in the habit it is awesome and cheap! Plus the diaper covers are sooo freaking cute!! From the research I did the up front cost is the biggest down fall but overall it is sooo much cheaper! I think the up front cost is between $150-$400 depending on the package you get. I say go for it!! I plan on doing it with my next baby. I just dont have the money right now for the up front cost. :(

Yeah I was just looking at the website given for trying out the program. So what those are is just all different kinds of cloth diapers to try at any brand?? I see there is def different ones to try. So If I get those then i can try to see what I like and if I like them..then I just paid 145 or whatever it is is for the package..and I keep them. But if not they will refund me all but 10 bucks? I can def do that. I am going to buy that and see what happens and what I like to use best.

I have friends who use cloth diapers. You can still buy a pack of 12 old fashioned flat diapers at Walmart for like $10. I read on a website once before about how many of those diapers they recommend per age of the baby. I think it was something like 70 diapers for an infant. That would be less than $70 for all the diapers. Then you would just need the covers. They sell different kinds of covers with different material... I imagine you would need only a few in each size.... I imagine that would be the cheapest way to go.
There is also info online about how to rinse the diaper, and how to store the diaper in a pail for a few days until they are washed. There is a wet method and a dry method.
Its my goal to use cloth diapers when I have a child some day! 4 most important reasons for me is: environmental concerns, health of the baby, cost, and I've read several places that children who are raised using cloth diapers pottytrain earlier and easier than kids that wear disposables :)

So far, I love cottonbabies.com for info. I know people that use Fuzzi Bunz one size and people that use Bum Genius one size. Both are LOVED! Go for it!!! I'm pretty sure we will be using the BG 4.0 when it comes time. We plan to ask for money toward or for maybe everyone to buy one or a small pkg as shower gifts. Thought at first about a raffle ticket for every pack of disposable diapers people bring, but I think 2 raffle tickets for every cloth one they bring!!! :) We'll see!!! Good luck!

There are a few sites that have a registry option for cloth! If you are interrested I can hunt them up for you, just let me know.

I am dying to try a 4.0, but DH said NO MORE DIAPERS LOL I have a bit of a sickness and like to try just about everything that comes out. I tried to get in on the seconds sale they had last night but totally missed it, so no 4.0 for me. Boooo! :)

I would LOVE that!!!! I've looked in some places but haven't seen any 4.0s at any places with registrys. How many did you need to have on hand for your triplets??? I'm not pregnant yet, but am curious! Thank you!!

No problem!  As for the triplets, we went old school for them, none of these fancy diapers for them LOL I kept about 5 dozen Gerber prefolds (which I would NOT reccomend, I just didn't know any better eight years ago) and Dappie rubber pants (about 14 pairs of those) and we used disposables at night. The sad thing is, I think I have more diapers for my youngest little guy then I ever did for the triplets, there are just so many wonderful options and I always want to try something new :) Infact I just got a new Kissa Contour today in the mail and I can't wait to try it out! The great thing is that well cared for diapers have an amazing resale value, so I know I will not only save money buy using them, I will get some of it back when we are done!

These are two of my FAVE WAHM websites, they customer service is AWSOME at both of them, you never have to worry about doing business with them. They both have a registry AND layaway program, and Earth Angles has a Cash for Stash program where she will buy and resell your diapers, and because of that she sometimes has amazing deals on very gently used diapers.

Diaper Junction has an amazing "Try it Program" and they also sell the diapers that people return at a great price, so it's worth a look and they have a registry!

And if you have any interrest in FuzziBunz, this is your best bet for good customer service and fast shipping, they have an easy to use registry also!

If you have ANY questions at all, don't hesitate to PM me. You can also check out diaperswappers.com for more info, the girls there can be dramarific, but they are mostly a good group who will help you with any questions you might have.
