This past August 27th marked my 2 year surgiversary! I had Duodenal Switch.
Now I just found out that I am 6 weeks pregnant! We are so thrilled! Especially since we were told I may never have children due to my hormonal condition! Looks like the surgery helped with everything!
We are overjoyed!!!!
I am hoping this is a sticky baby, we did have a miscarriage before and we are just praying for a healthy pregnancy, delivery, and baby!
I would love any advice you guys have to offer!

Thanks everyone!

God bless!

Congrats- The best thing I ever did was see my doctors (high risk / fertility group) early...as soon as I got a positive.  I had explained to them my previous loss, and they had me in for blood work several days apart, then early u/s every week from like 6 to 10 weeks.  I was put on progesterone both times, and I had health pregnancies and babies.  Literally those progesterone shots were a pain in the ass but nothing would have stopped me from getting them since it is what I needed (I had to let a RN co-worker see my butt to get a shot once- DH was out of town and family was to freaked out to do it.- now you know that is sacrifice! )

I had heard the same thing about never having kids (PCOS)- I have 2 biological children who are just about 11 months and 27 months.  Good luck- and take care of you and get good care early.

What sort of blood work did they do right after your BFP?  I've asked one dr before about checking progesterone (and whatever other hormones) levels and got pooh-poohed and told that obviously my levels are fine if I'm getting pregnant.  This last one I was on progesterone suppositories 100 mg 3x a day, with the same results of a mc...but wondered what types of blood work you had done so I can try to push for more testing when/if I get pg again.  Hopefully I'll be talking to the RE in Oregon in the next week or so to see if he has any suggestions or alternative treatments for me.

Thanks.

Thanks so much! I am going to be talking to the doctor this Friday about progesterone! I will do anything, even shots in my butt to keep this little one in there :)
