This is way off topic and some people will be upset because this has nothing to do with weight loss nor the sleeve. BUT I trust you guys and would like some opinions. I had an IUD placed about one week ago. I had super hard cramps during and after the procedure that last a couple of days. I haven't messed around since then until last night. My husband was able to feel them!!! OMG that freaked me OUT!!! Later I was really upset and I was able to feel the threads....(more like wires)! I am not feeling like I am going to start my period again........I am a little crampy??? I am totally confused and I went online to read about things like this. The only thing I was able to find was negative things. I guess I am afraid of that little device coming out!!!
Last week when they placed it I had three major cramps....then when he was done and removed everything one of the instruments pulled the thread when being removed and pulled the damn thing out.....so they had to re-insert it!!!! OMG
I hope this does not afend anyone since this is not what I was trying to do.
I JUST NEED SOME HELP~~~~THANKS GUYS FOR LISTENING!!!~~~~
Thanks

I've had my IUD for over a year now. I did have some cramps on and off for the first couple months. Also my dh could feel the strings at first...in certain positions....i know TMI. My ob requires that you go back in a month for a string and placement check. She snipped them a bit so they were not so long and we've not had any other issues. If they are bothering your dh too much until your follow up appt...... I'd call your ob and let them know your need to have your strings snipped. It only takes a second to snip the strings.
The first few weeks after I had mine placed I was extremely crampy. I also bled a bit.
You are supposed to be able to feel the threads so that you can check after each of your periods, but they shouldn't be so long that DH can feel them too. I had to go back after a few weeks to make sure the placement was correct. If you have to do that too make sure you mention it to your gyn so that he/she can cut some of the string off.
It was a bit unnerving to me the first month when I wasn't sure it would work or not. I had the copper IUD for ten years then I had it removed and had the Mirena inserted. We decided after 11 months with it that we wanted another baby and I got pregnant on our first try. So all in all its been a great form of BC for me. Its what I am going back to after the baby's here.
Good luck!

If this is your first IUD, and especially if you haven't had a baby before, you will have some cramping. Mine lasted for a couple of weeks off and on. You may also have some frequent spotting, especially in the first 6 months. It gets better, I promise. If you have a Mirena, usually you will see that over time your periods may taper off or even stop altogether. You could also try taking some vitamin E. Oddly enough when I first got my first Mirena, I started having occasional cramping (with no period) after I'd had it for a couple of years. My GYN suggested taking 400iu of vitamin E a day and the cramps stopped.
