Sorry for Sage, but she will be fine...I haven't had a fall yet but I was holding Jakob and kicked forward then backward quickly and ran into my hand which scratched him. (He had a long scar for a few days and I cried the whole night) Jakob on the other hand scratches himself every other day which is okay, I just can't be the cause of it...I feel your pain.

It happens - as you can see from the posts from everyone else.  When my son was 1 1/2, he and I were playing in bed - DH was asleep next to me - and he dived over DH to get away while we were playing.  Unfortunately, DH sleeps on the very very edge of the bed, so when he dived over, there was nothing but floor there.  He broke his wrist when he landed.  I knew something was up because he didn't cry at all...just wanted to sleep.  They did an xray and said it was broken, but that because it was straight and in line that it didn't need a cast...so he spent the next two weeks or so crawling on his knees and one arm, or pushing his little noisy police car (that I still have!) with his good hand and nudging himself along on his knees, keeping  his injuried arm up next to his body.  Talk about feeling bad....  : (

When my daughter was a couple of weeks old she was sleeping with me in my bed. I forgot and pushed her out. Plop. On the floor she went. Six years later she is fine. But talk about the guilt I felt. Whew....

I'm with everyone else! When Luke was very little, he fell off the couch...TWICE. I didn't even think he was old enough to move that much. Apparently he wiggled & turned & pushed with his feet. My husband still gives me hell about (in a teasing manner, of course). I can laugh about it now, but I felt so guilty for a long time. I'm pretty sure it's one of those cases where it truly hurts us more than it does them ; )

Wait until she is toddling and falls off a curb smack head first on the concrete or against something and being right in front of you!  Happened to Jason and I on 2 separate occasions.  Jackson has had 3 major goose eggs on his head in his short life (same thing happened with my m-inlaw).  I think that is where some of our extra grey hairs have come from  but he is fine now and still keeps going full speed ahead.

Did she land on carpet? if so, she probably just had the wind knocked out of her. We all do dumb things like this - now you know she can't be on elevated surfaces unless you're right there with her. I was playing with Rowan recently and he raced to the other side of the bed and took a header off, landing on his forehead on a tile floor. THAT was a truly sickening noise, but he was fine and now I know he is faster than me and we can't play on the bed anymore!
