Contractions

I was induced with my son...so I'm not sure what labor feels like not brought on by inducing. What do the first real labor contractions feel like?

Do they start in your back? I've heard that, but I was induced too so I'm not sure. Good luck!

ill start by saying everyone is different.. according to what the books say.. they start in the top of your uturas and roll down.. in a tighting mannor.. usually dont start off painful... then they get closer together and more frequent.. and way more painful

My contractions started out feeling like period cramps with each of mine and it hurt low.  I just started writing down when I felt something to see if I was feeling it regularily.  I am a bit odd though because my early labor doesn't hurt that bad. 

First of all, congrats Jackie... I would say your little guy is on his way soon...

When I went into labor, it felt like cramps that you get with your period except stronger... My tummy would tighten up and then release after a couple of seconds... It's hard to describe and everyone has different experiences there too - some have back labor which I did not have... My pain and discomfort was all in the front... The closer the contractions got the stronger they were... I drove to the hospital when I was 5 cm dialated and at that point they were pretty strong but nothing I couldn't handle...

Mine started in the middle of the night after I went to bed.  I kept having to get up every 30 minutes, on the dot practically, feeling like I had to pee...and hardly needed to do anything...got back to bed, almost asleep, had to pee...all night until about 5:30 a.m. when I started feeling the actual contractions.  Initially they felt similar to the Braxton Hicks...then just got stronger and stronger from that.

The thoughts and prayers are appreciated Dee.  I'm doing OK.  Got the genetics tests back this week, and contrary to all the drs who've been telling me 'it's your eggs...it's chromosomal...blah blah blah...' I don't know what the problem is...but I do know that it's not chromosomal.  The genetics tests came back normal...and also showed that this had been a boy. 

I've sent the results back to the dr in the U.S., who's in a conference this week.  He sent me a quick email to tell me he'll review them next week when he's back in the office, so hopefully I'll be able to talk to him a day or so later, whenver he's available.

How about you?  How are you and DH doing?  You only have another month or two until you're cleared to TTC again don't you?  Are you ready to try?  I hope so...and I pray you get a Christmas BFP with a strong, healthy baby.
