let's talk about *coffee*
Yep, it's an evil word for preggo's. Although there is conflicting info everywhere I read. Some say no, not at all (you can cause a miscarriage or birth defects) some say a few cups a day is fine, and a few even claim they drank a pot a day throughout their pregnancy and everything was fine. Most books say no more than two cups a day. I switched to Maxwell house 1/2 caff and drink 4 of those. Cannot function without it. SORRY. So what do you drink (if any)?
I don't drink coffee, but I'm a Coke Zero fanatic, and I can't function without it. Caffeine should be fine if your not having more than 200mg per day. Check caffeine amounts, that should be about 2 or 3 cups daily. I work with pregnant women and this is the recommendation I give them if they are caffeine drinkers. Hope this helps.
P.S. I drink 3-4 Coke Zero's daily, they each have 38 mgs per can.

I drink coffee every morning. usually 1 cup plus cream and sugar. (I also indulge in raw fish sushi without fear...*gasp*)
So many "Pregnancy Don'ts" are total BS when you really read the scientific literature behind them.
Since I don't drink soda or tea, I'm not worried about over doing it on caffeine. You'd have to be mainlining caffeine to consume enough to cause an issue.

Drank it , with OB approval, with my first 2 and didn't have a problem! I have one cup a day now, and they usually trigger hypoglycemic attacks for me. Or at least that is what the dr calls these attacks. Otherwise, I don't see the problem. My OB, the head OB on post, said that coffee, in moderation, is fine.

I LOVE MY PREEMIES!
I was uber-careful in the first trimester (actually the first 16 weeks) and then I finally relaxed a little. I indulge in the occasional cup of coffee, but it's usually like 1/2 milk and 1/2 coffee because I don't like it black and I don't use creamers. I also eat blue cheese and deli meat on occasion.

I was a coffee fanatic before pregnancy and with OB ok, I switched to 1/2 Caff and only have maybe a cup or two every morning as it seems to keep me from being constipated LOL I usually keep to Caff free beverages during the day or get 1/2 diet and 1/2 caff free diet if I am out and about. So far at 31 weeks all is good!
