Hello everyone I haven't been on here for a while.  I am 30 weeks pg and have been getting lightheaded everyday.  Sometimes more than one spell.  They last any where from a minute to all day.  I get nausea, hot flash with it and my legs are weak.  My BP is fine and sugar levels are fine.  My OB wants me to see a neuro for this, but I am just wondering if its just a combo of being PG and having the VSG.

Thanks

I had those problems too and it was low bp and low blood sugar. It happens quick and goes away just as quick. Like a big flood of the feeling then I would sit down eat a candy and put feet up and it would go away just as fast. At other times when checked though my bp and blood sugar were fine. So the symptoms is what they went by. When I was no longer pregnant..it went away. LOL now that I am pregnant again its all back. So I keep candy with me and eat every couple hours like they told me before and when I do that its just fine. Hope you get some relief!

This happened to me while I was pregnant as well.  And like Shannyn, whenever I got checked out, I was fine.  But the symptoms were definite signs of BP and low sugar.  I had a very close call when I was about 32 weeks pregnant and passed out in the mall and hit my head on the way down.  Scary.. Ever since that incident, I made sure to carry an assortment of treats in my purse and I learned the early warning signs quickly!

I have BP problems and low sugar. The light headedness I get is from the BP, the nausia, for the most part, is from the low sugars. When the lightheadednes****s you lie down on you left side as soon as you can. The left side helps with the blood flow. Good luck with this.

As everyone has already said that could be BP and low sugar. I have gotten dizzy for low sugar since Ive been pregnant. However...also could be low iron. Are you anemic? Have you had your iron checked at all lately? I am anemic and even before I got pregnant...I would get lightheaded and dizzy to where Id almost past out before...from having low iron....and your legs do get weak...I normally quickly would eat peanut butter when this happens. I would def look into your iron levels also cause I have heard even if you were not anemic before...it tends to happen to women towards the end of their pregnancy that their iron levels drop. Just a suggestion and my opinion.

Well I ave had those problems for all my pregnancy so far! I believe it was low B/P like everyone else. I also believe that it does have a lot to do with the RNY because I was 6 months out when I got pregnant. So I would say talk to your doctor and see about the type of surgery you had and the affects it could be giving you. I know that getting weak and dizzy is not fun so watch yourself because I have fell out before.

Thanks everyone.  My iron levels are fine.  The doctor has put me off work.  As long as I am not on my feet a lot or doing to much than its not that bad.  He also suggested no driving, which is hard because I don't want to depend on someone having to take my kids to and from school unless I absolutely have to.
