twins....

So today both twins have heartbeats and are moving around in there. I am now in need of any info from us twin moms as to anything to look out for or kind of get my mindset in. I want to be prepared. I know everyone and every pregnancy is different but I dont know people with twins other than a cousin who just moved here but her twins are 3 now lol. So anyone with any insight would be awesome! Thank you!

oooo Congrats! Twins are so much fun... What do ya wanna know?

Right now just kind of looking at weights when born what week they were born. Of course my clothes are already getting small. Wow a huge change. Last year I waited till my 5th month to get in maternity clothes. Just so much to look up and learn and the more I hear the better I like to prepare as much as I can ahead of time.

yea I got big quickly too... well mine were born at 37w 5d by a scheduled section because they didn't want to stay head down, up until the last days they still had room to flip...lol  But anywho... Mine were 6lbs2oz and 6lbs7oz. 19 1/2in. and 19 1/4in. Both good sized babies especially for twins...  They were in the NICU for about 2 days because of fluid in there lungs from the section.... But mine were born on May 6th almost 5 months now and they are right up there where they should be in size between 14-15lbs and 25in long... there pediatrician is very pleased with how happy and healthy my boys are.... How far along are you now?

Right now around 8 weeks or so. Have had 3 ultrasounds to see them. Maybe more for me to believe they are there. I am still in shock. I am excited. Just worried I wont know how to do everything and all. I know I can but my mind is scattered right now. Lol

No advice here because I only had a singleton...but wanted to send my congrats!!!

My girls were born at 30 wks due to complications. They were 2lbs 9 oz and 2ls 10 oz. They spent 6 weeks in the NICU and were basically categorized as "feeders and growers", meaning they had no issues other than needing to get big enough to go home.
They're now 18 months old and have zero complications from being preemies (in fact they tested as advanced with language and fine motor skills at their 18 month developmental visit).

Also look into joining a twin group in your city. Most places with have a Mom of Multiples group or something similar. It's a great resource and I love my group. After my twins were born, they stocked our freezer with home cooked meals, were available to help if we needed it and were a great source of info since they'd all "been there, done that".

congrats to you and your twins, mine are identical and born at 37 weeks 5 days due to pre eclampsia by csection, they weighed 5lbs 8 ounces and 6 lbs, 19 inch and 18.5 inches

they spent NO time in the nicu they never left my sight during my hospital stay only to get a bath.

it was hard at first because my daughter was 15 months old when they were born and she slept all night and they slept all day so i was a walking zombie for the 1st couple of months but then they start to sleep normal and life gets more calm.

i didnt have any help my husband works and goes to school.  obviously going outside for me is the challenge still cause my 2 yr old is lazy and wants the stroller still, i have a single maclaren and a double maclaren stroller for my kids

today my daughter is 2yr and the boys are 10 month, they are doing great, eat well, sleep great, a joy and a pleasure, my daughter sometimes gets jealous and will be ruff with them and push or hit them :(  she is good for the most part. 

i had my tubes tied after the csection, i figured y  not i was open already, lol

as for weight gain during my pregnancy i gained 36lbs and the week after i lost 45lbs

i was all belly, i was fitting in my regular clothes up until 6 months pregnant

Congrats Shannyn!!  I would have hit the floor if I saw twins on the U/S.  It's gonna be fun!!! lol congrats!

I will be 15 weeks prego with twins tomorrow. IT was definately a surprise when I went in for the initial visit and they did the U/S, the initial shock has come and gone now I just can't wait to find out the genders...
